Shopper : What is the footprint?MICHAEL L : Minimum is a triangle about 26" on a side. Maximum about 36".JASON D : I think it's about three feet. It's large enough to be sturdy indoors and deal with slight breeze outdoors but not much more.
JAMES H : maximum light weight?John V : Alien Bee mono light is what I use. You can check the weight at the Paul Buff web site. I have no idea off top of my head. Although it doesn't seem to need the precaution, I sand bag all my light stands as I was taught to as a best practice. Otherwise it can be an expensive whoops.

Same as the one I already have

Same as the one I already have. Works great for my needs. I use for off camera flash out and about, as well as with studio speed lights. As with any other stand, base picks up grit when using in outdoor locations. Keep clean to assure that leg collar moves smoothly along shaft when folding. I keep damp cloth in zip lock bag to clean it up.

Excellent light stand

I bought this to use with a bracket that holds a flash and umbrella. This stand is very nicely made, and the telescoping tubes slide smoothly. Nice satin black finish, good clamps too. It was a great deal!

Solid construction for a good price

It's a lightweight yet durable and sturdy stand made out of quality material. I don't think one can go any lighter than this without having potential problems. The surface is matte, unlike some other lightstands so it doesn't give off glare. Good buy!
