This adapter made a nice connection between the old CRT HD15 and the newer DVI connector.

The application was to be able to use one of the dual DVI outputs from a new computer to supply video output to a projector which only accepts VGA or RCA input. It does not work. There must be a signal converter used to change it from Digital to Analog. This information needs to be included with the product information. So that shoppers do not assume it will work without the converter.

it works w/ my xps 8100 for dual monitor purposes. Dell recommended me wrong adapter for dual monitor twice!!! But i was able to find the same adapter that I already got w/ my system on cablestogo :-).

We recently upgraded all the workstations to new i7 based desktops that support dual monitors running Windows 7. We reused the original analog flat screens along with new DVI based wide screens. the adapters let us connect the old analog monitors to the Y cable supplied with the desktops to create a dual screen environment.

We used the adapter for the DVI-analog out of a document camera to connect to the VGA cable to the projector. It worked fine!

If you have a TV with DVI and trying to convert to VGA stop and look at the female on your TV. If you don't have 4 pins surrounding your large tab this adapter will not work.
