Shopper : Can I use this lens with my Canon 5D III? If not? Is there a L version of this? What's the best deal I can get on the L glass? I also own Sony A7 (not the image stabilised 7 II) . Is Sony 10-22mm available? Price?SIMON R : No, you can't attach an EF-S to an EF FF Canon body. The closest EF lens is the EF 16-35 F4, which costs a lot more. You could, however, attach it to your a7 if you have a suitable adapter and don't mind using the a7 in crop sensor mode (I know first hand that this lens works well on Sony bodies via the Metabones EF-Sony adapter). There's an equivalent Sony lens, but it costs a lot more and you would also have to use the a7 in crop mode (the FF equivalent for the Sony is Sony's equivalent to the EF 16-35 F4).NORMAN J : The Canon 10-18mm is designed for the smaller format Canon (APS-C) not the full frame format like a 5D. Also I don't consider its quality to be as excellent as the "L" series lenses. There are some very nice Canon lenses for full frame Canon DSLR's as well as Sigma, Tokina, and Tamaron models for full frame Canon DSLR's. The high quality lenses unfortunately are rather expensive. Great value and great pictures!

Love that I can get truly wide angle shots on my APS sensor camera. The value can't be beat as the focusing and resolution are really good. My only complaint is that I wish it had a focusing scale for manual focusing when trying to set at infinity for astrophotography. (If i neglect to pre-focus in the daylight.)

Remarkably good for the money

I actually use this for video with a Canon C70 (super 35 sensor). I've found it to be sharp with responsive AF and provides a great, almost surreal wide view. For a EFs lens it's a great value. My only complaint is that it's very prone to flare - can be a cool effect, but if you don't want it, watch your key light source.

Sharp and light weight for landscape photos.

I bought this lens because of the quality photos produced by it. This is one of the least expensive lenses in my collection. This lens produces the best landscape photos, with the sharpest, and best field of view of any lens I own. This is a very light weight, and small lens that I can always depend on for great shots.

Great Lens

I bought this lens about 10 months ago and so far the image and build quality has been excellent, although the lens has noticeable distortion and chromatic aberration towards the edges the images came out great. The lens is not the greatest in low light but that is to be expected from a wide-angle lens in this price range

Canon 10-18 just right for Real Estate

I purchased the Canon 10-18 specifically for Real Estate photography. Using HDR at f/8 and f/11, my photos are quite sharp and once I set a lens preset in Lightroom, my workflow is very easy and turn around to clients.

Good Entry Level Wide Lens

I found myself wanting something a little wider than the kit lens on my Canon T7i, and after some research I decided that this lens would be a good balance between cost and quality. It probably isn't the highest quality glass, but it does exactly what I need. It's great for bright daytime landscapes or even indoor real estate style photographs. I'm excited to keep learning more about photography with this addition to my kit.

Perfect!!! Purchased this lens along with ef-s adaptor to do real estate photos with my M50. Exactly what I needed for a reasonable price. Top picture was done with standard ef-m lens at 15mm. Bottom with the new era one at 10mm.

Excellent lens

I am a professional product photographer but bought this lens for my fun shooting. I don’t shoot at test targets or hyper analyze lenses I judge a lens on it’s real world results. It’s either pleasing or it isn’t. I think the results from this lens are excellent. I can’t imagine that anyone using an APS-C sensor would not be delighted. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic mount but I’m not knocking off a star because it’s so light it probably makes no difference and Canon put the money into the optics. Heck, it even has IS.

EF-S 10-18 IS STM lens with bundle

Perfect wide angle lens for my compact sensor camera. Some aberration at the widest setting but a great lens to get close in shots. The bundle was not that good. Lens cap leash fell apart, UV filter has imperfections in the glass, lots of the items in the bundle I will never use.

Using the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens for street photography

The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens is much more versatile than I thought it would be. I am a street photographer at heart and usually use an 18mm to 250mm zoom or 50 mm prime. I actually found that the wide zoom worked better for me to get the type of photos that I wanted. I thought I would have to get in super close but in actuality it seemed just the right distance for most photos. I think the only way you will know is if you can ty one out.
