Most Liked Positive Review

I would buy this product all the time.

Take good picture all the time and very clear.I use it in my EOS 5D canon camera. Canon made a good lens.

Most Liked Negative Review

Good buy for the money

Although the price was good, I prefer the internal zoom function over this one. I never realized how convenient it is to not have the lens stick out further, and be subjected to the sand and grit of the western desert and beach sands and dirts. If you can swing the extra $$ for the internal zoom functions, do it. If not, this lens will get the job done, just make sure to keep it clean, and away from blowing dirt.

Versatile Lens for general purpose use

from Minneapolis, MN  -  Photo Enthusiast

general purpose lens, used for casual outdoor, people photography. You need to carry just one lens. -- Not so good in low lights, may need to switch to manual mode for focussing

poor quality construction

from Massachusetts

I was hoping for a good all around lens and thought the 28-200mm would be a good fit. For a while it performed well but the more I used it the more the poor build quality became apparent. The front portion of the lens barrel became loose and then the auto focus motor started becoming erratic. When the lens is pointing downward the lens barrel will slide out. Overall I am satisfied with all the other Canon lenses and products I own but totally dissatisfied with this lens.

Could not tell it from brand new

from Lexington, KY  -  Photo Enthusiast

using it to replace a 28 to 70mm that the auto focus quit working on. Love the extra range to 200mm. It will become my everyday use lens.

Great Walkabout Lens

from Ventura County, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

This Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, in my opinion, is an outstanding walkabout lens on my Canon 5D Mark II. Image quality is a tad below an L lens, however, very acceptable.

Best Walkabout Zoom Lens

from Ventura County, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

After extensive use, I determined that the 28-200 zoom range is ideal as an all around lens for me on the Canon EOS 5DM2. Image quality is almost comparible to Canon's L-series.

What a Lens!

from Thousand Oaks, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

Zoom range is excellent for the images taken on my 5D Mark II. Most images are made 8x12 and a smathering 20x30. The image quality is a tad below the EF 24-70mm f2.8L but is visually acceptable.

Good mid range lens

There is an average lens that fits average situations and handle it well...
