I own Canon 7d and wanted to do some macro photography. Rather than spending the money on a dedicated macro lens, I read that the close up filter was a terrific tool. I have used the lens filter and it has lived up to expectations. The clarity is excellent and very little reduction in light is noticed. I will be using this lens filter for photos of abstract form of common items. Would highly recommend to buy this product.

Great addition to your bag if you're a Macro enthusiast. Although I haven't had the opportunity to use it to its fullest extent, I was thrilled with the results from what shooting I did do with it. Can't wait to get into the garden with it!!!

There isn't alot of difference between a close-up with or without the added lens. Perhaps it would give you just a little more distance from a subject like a spider. However, by the time you've screwed the lens on, the subject is probably long gone. (You can solve that problem by having a separate lens adapter for each lens.) The image quality doesn't seem degraded when used, but in some situations it can enhance the S3 IS's habit of putting a red edge on subjects out of the focal plane. You must stay ever vigilent on lens cleaning or you'll just keep focusing on single specks of dust. Overall, it's not bad and can bring you just a little closer to your subject, but I think it should provide more magnification to really be worth the cost and effort.

This lightweight attachment allows me to get close ups without casting shadows on my subject. Now when weight is a factor, I can leave the macro lens at home. This is a must have for every one.

The 500D provided me the extra telephoto range that allowed me to extend the usage of the telephoto on my Canon S3. As a nature photographer who took a 25 year pause from photography, the capabilities of the S3 combined with the 500D has re-lighted my enthusiam. I am now dusting off my old lerns and exploring the purchase of a DSLR.

I use this filter on my Sigma 55-200mm and Oly 40-150mm zoom lenses on an Olympus e-510 and e-300 cameras. It does great macro from about 30 inches with these lenses. You don't have to be too close which allows great macros of insects that may be camera shy. It has great construction, you can feel the quality of the glass. This filter is a lot heavier than your standard close up filters. I hardly ever use my 35mm Macro lens anymore.

Great for close up photography, it really helps to blow the back round out.

I use the D500 close-up lens with my Canon S5 IS for macro and super-macro shots. Images are much sharper than without it. With the camera set to supermacro, I've gotten sharp images from only about 3 inches. On my camera, at least, manual focusing is disabled when using the D500, but that's not much of a problem, as focusing can be adjusted by moving the camera slightly foreward or backward.

Love this for close-up flower shots. Nice pin-hole type of effect.

I bought this lens so I would not always have to carry my macro lens with me. I use it on my 70-300mm zoom lens. The macro shots I can get are excellent and I am thinking of selling my macro. You have to move the camera close to the subject to focus then fine tune the focusing with the focus ring on the camera lens.

Just like mining for real gold, mining 'gold' images seems to be a goal shared by most photographers, yet some of the finest gold to be mined is often overlooked. These images remain 'buried', hidden in some ..
Double-element accessory attaches to front of lens; changes closest focusing distance from infinity to 500mm(approx. 19.7") from front of lens.
For EF lenses and PowerShot Pro90 IS.
