UV filters are a must have to protect your lenses. Canon makes great filters.

I'm on the fence about this filter. If there's any trace of flare then it seems to be strongly magnified with the filter. Without filter I was able to see better results in image on Canon 5DMKII. This was using both 85, f1.8 and 50mm f1.4 lenses. Maybe a hood would have solved issue but these lenses didn't come with hoods and I haven't bought and tested with hood yet.

This stays on my expensive lens as protection. Optically plane with no distortion and no false coloring. A must have!

I don't consider myself qualified to comment on the quality of filtering/color correction (though I'm very pleased with my shots), since the reason I purchased this filter was for lens protection. And it works exceptionally well! The quality is great, and the filter protects my lens from dust and scratches (it's much easier to replace a filter than a lens). The camera cap fits perfectly, too. No complaints here, and I'm sure it's helping my color and UV exposure -- if I only knew enough to be able to tell! *wink*

Picked up two of these filters to help protect our Canon cameras at the race tracks we do photography at. Very good price for a nice protection against the dust, scratches or any other element.

When using high-end Canon EOS camera bodies and Canon "L" lenses, I prefer to use Canon accessories. The fit is perfect and Canon glass has been proven to be some of the best available. Never use a lens without protecting it with high quailty filter.

Good, cheap lens protection. Take this off if shooting into the sun as it is prone to flare (not unexpected considering the price!:)...

I got an actual Canon filter for my Canon lens to be sure the lens cap would fit (which it does). I've had trouble in the past with off-brand filters that the original camera lens cap did not "like."

I had been putting this purchase off ever since I was given my Canon for Christmas two years ago. I will be taking this camera with me along with my new digital to a trip to Alaska and my husband will be using the Canon. I need this filter and when I researched companies to purchase from, this company stood out. I received my item in perfect condtion and in a timely manner. Thank You. This is a great filter that fits my Canon lenses perfectly, I have one on each of my lenses ! Not only does it correct for the uv rays but it is cheap insurance to protect your expensive lenses. A must have !
