Shopper : Is it compatible with Canon 6D?PHILLIP G : Yes it is compatible. But this lens's capabilities are far inferior to the 6D camera. If you invest in a 6D, then you'd be well served by better glass than this.MELLISA M : Yep

My Favorite Lens

This is a great budget lens. Pictures are amazingly clear and sharp in both manual and auto focus. I use it both indoor and outdoor and mostly for sports photography - my kids do swim and hockey.

Don't listen to the 13 year old bad reviews!!.

The reviews for this lens are really funny especially the older ones. I'm using this with a Neewer EF- to RF adaptor on a Canon R10 and I'm getting some amazing photos with this lens. It does suffer slightly in low light due to the slow speed. However so does my R10. For the price and the build quality and the fact the images you get look great make this a 5 star lens imho. Definitely a great piece of kit to learn with as well.

not very useful

the lens itself is OK, however this size is not required for most. i rather have the 18-135 better. this one is very specific .

Nice Product but slow delivery

For the price and versatility, this is a good lens. But, it took 2 weeks to receive, had to contact Adorama after 1 wk without hearing anything. If this were Ebay, the seller would typically get a negative for slow delivery, and poor communication. Product is a 4.5, delivery 1.0

Great travel lens - for steady hands

I purchased this lens to extend my Canon travel kit (SL2 cropped sensor DSLR, EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens, EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 USM IS Zoom Lens) with a "longer" (the 75-300mm) tele zoom lens without adding too much weight to my bag. The 75-300 turns out to be a high quality sharp lens which accomplishes just that. Autofocus is fast and reliable and image quality good enough not to "miss" higher quality (and much heavier) glass. What I miss with this tele lens is image stabilization. Without IS, I need a lot of light to shoot at the max 300mm at the high shutter speed required for sharp images of moving objects in a far distance (e.g. birds, planes).

Good For the Price

This is good for the price. If you're here looking at this lens then you are probably a consumer and not looking for pro level quality. This is a good lens for it's price but know that you will upgrade if you are serious about photography.

Pretty good for the price

The zoom is a little weird, at least to me, but the lens is great otherwise for a newbie.

I love taking sports pictures and I have found this lens to take great pictures. I just wish it had automatic stabilizer.

Excellent

I use this lens for sports and wildlife photography! I love the fast and quiet ultrasonic motor autofocus. The only thing that really could have been changed would be the lens casing, which seems to be kind of loose when zooming in and out. Other than that, great lens!

Good Lens

I initially expected this lens to have image stabilization but after using it a few times and reviewing the photos, I am sold. I used the lens on vacation to get some close up shot's on wildlife at the edge of a cliff from atop a "Point Udal" (St.Croix USVI). I was able to get shots up close without leaving the security of the lookout area. I would recommend this lens for the beginner to mid level pro.

This is not a true USM UltraSonic Motor

I was mislead by having ULTRASONIC written on the lens. I should have known because I have three true Ultrasonic Motor.

Canon EF 75-300mm review

I researched the forums about what lenses would be the most affordable and versatile and this lens fits the bill. It is light weight and fits in my camera bag. I can use it for a carry around lense, it focuses fast enough for my needs and allows me to be back away from some of the wildlife I like to photograph. I also attach it to my telescope, piggyback and use it to take astronomy pictures for personal use. The price vs. features list was the main reason, but teh picture quality won me over.

Had for years, love the results

I know there are better telephoto lenses out there, but none cheaper. Results aren't always found in the gear, but in the skills of the photographer. If you're new to photography, this is a great lens for learning to control a telephoto, and tracking motion at distances. I've had this lens for 6 years and still love breaking it out. I make little money with my work, since it is just a hobby. So I have no need to buy the pricey IS lenses, it works great for me.

The Good The Bad The Ugly

For the money this lens is great...[...].On the 75-200 end, the pictures are average to above average, however 200-300 it drops off the scale fast. From a professional stand point I would look else were, but for mom and dad at a baseball park this lens if for you.

Buy if you don't care about your photos

When I first bought this lens with my Rebel TX about 2 years ago, I didn't know anything about photography. Looking back on it, it showed in my willing to purchase this lens. I've since upgraded my equipment to a Canon 5D body, a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens and a Canon 50mm f/1.4 Lens. I'm asuming if you are looking to purchase this lens, you don't care much about the quality of your photos (in that case go buy it). If you care about the quality, then start by dishing out a few more dollars and looking into Sigma Lenses. You'll get WAY more bang for the buck and there are many professional photographers that actually prefer what they get from the sigma lens over the Canon L series lenses. Like I said in the begining, if you don't care about your photos being high quality, this lens is for you.

A good well-priced lens!

I've used this to photograph soccer and basketball games with great results. No need to use tripod if the filem speed is fast (400-800).

A Great Lens for the Money

If price is a consideration in buying a lens, this lens does a great job for the money. It isn't the top of the line but it works very well and you can get some very nice photos.

good buy

this is a great lens. The only real bad part is that it dosn't auto focas very well in dark lighting but I shot a basketball game with it and the gym didn't have very good lighting and the pictures came out great. i'v only shot on wedding with it and its perfect for geting and close up from way acrossed the room. so all and all great lens buy it if your looking for a good 75-300mm lens.

Compact and lightweight 4x telephoto zoom lens ideal for shooting sports, portraits, and wildlife. The newly developed Micro USM makes autofocusing quicker and quieter. The improved zoom mechanism also makes zooming smoother. The front part of the zoom ring now sports a silver ring for a luxury touch.
