Great New Gadget

The V6 from Cactus was responsive and well built. It took a bit of time to set up as a Nikon trigger. Now that I have everything set it's a great part of my gear! I have two and may get more! Definitely recommend them.

Triggers That Speak My Lingo

By

from Dallas

Simple! When I first tried to use them, they wouldn't fire and gave me the message my camera was in bulb mode. My camera wasn't supposed to be in bulb, and by looking at all the display settings I never would've known it. (I was wondering why I wasn't getting optimal images!) So thanks to these prickly little cactus (cacti plural?) I blew out the settings on my camera and got it back on track. Oh yes, and they fire just perfectly! I have 3 and I'm looking forward to all sorts of great images in every location! Best!

Not what I needed.

Returned.Did not function as per salesman. Maybe a misunderstanding on one of our parts. Returned as dissatisified and unused. Awaiting refund so as to make a purchase vith a Cactus v5 duo.

It has it all without high cost

By

from CA

I got 5 V6's and 4 flashes. I love it that I can meter with my Senokic L758, and change the setting on each flash with with the 5th V6. The setup is pretty simple and there are some great instructions on YouTube. I read about them from a great review over at Pentax Forums. I looked at Pocket Wizard, but for the price, these V6"s do everything I need.

Truly One of The Best New Products Out

By

from Philadelphia, PA

I have 3 of these for my Phottix Mitros flashes and they work great. Was so easy to set up; just went into the menu found the flash profile and all was set. Made everything a whole lot easier for my 3 light set up. Surely out performs the more expensive brands on the market today, and extremly cost efficient!!!!

Very capable strobe controller.

By

from Central Florida

It can communicate with almost any recent TTL capable strobe via a simple menu system providing individual channel control of flash output. Very reliable. And it uses common AA batteries. I haven't found anything negative about it. Will be buying more soon so that all my strobes will have their own.

Very handy

By

from Texa

I bought this along with the companion flash to save steps when using flash off-camera. So far it works great, just as advertised. (I have only used it to control the flash, have not tried it as a remote camera trigger.) Build quality is not quite as nice as the flash, but does not seem to be a probem. The battery compartment is a snug fit to some high-capacity rechargeables, so they can be difficult to remove.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  compatible with canon?
BRIT C  Yes this will work with Canon
Shopper  What cable is used with the v6 to remote fire the nikon D3? I know the v5 has a shutter release cable, how about the v6?
J. ALAN M  The V6 works with 6 different brands of cameras and their dedicated flash. The V6 DOESN'T come with a camera connecting synch cord, since, if it sent out cords with each Transceiver (considering that it "masters" or "translates" between at least six (6) distinct different brands) it would have to include all the different cords for all the models of each of the 6 brands of cameras! SO you have to get the cord that fits your particular model going to the common (I believe) 3.5 mm mini- phone plug contact. You'd put the transceiver on the camera on "recieve" and set a hand held transceiver to "transmit or send" and patch a cord from the camera's tranceiver to the camera ... and use the hand-held V6 as the shutter release button! Slick as can be! And it will translate (manual control) between different brands of flash and cameras, i.e., Canon flash and Nikon cameras. And each transceiver has a monitering screen so you always know what it is set for. Easy-Peasy!
Thuan T  Will the V6 trigger the Yongnuo Yn568ex off camera?
STEPHEN B  The V6 is supposed to be able to manually fire any brand of flash. I use mine to trigger Metz AF58-2 (Olympus), Cactus, and Sunpak 433D (Pentax) flashes.
