Questions & Answers

SON N : is this 1 trigger for all camera? i want to get one for pentax.ADAM R : YesNATHAN G : I use this trigger on my Pentax K3 and it works great. Hope this helps.BRYAN K : Yes, it's s tranciver to it can transmit to a flash from the camera or it can be a receiver to receive from camera , but you need two . 1 for camera , 1 for flash
Dennis T : Will I be able to use the v6 with my Nikon sb800 flash and canon 430 II flash at the same time with the canon 6d camera?PAVIE P : Yes and you can remotely control the flash power output of the selected flash model (supported flash profile) wirelessly through the Cactus V6.STEPHEN B : Yes, that is the point of using the Cactus system. You can mix and match flashes of different manufacture with any camera. One V6 on camera in transmit mode fires flashes attached to other V6s in receive mode. Depending on the types of flashes, you may only be able to use them in manual mode, but you will be able to fire them.Rodney B : Absolutely, my setup is exactly the same with the difference of my camera being a 5DIII. But I use both of those flashes with no issues.
Shopper : Hi dear Sir or Madam . Question about cactus v6 , is that compatible to Sony camera and flashgun system? Because I need a set for myself . Sincerely thank youMICHAEL C : I have used it on my Sony with the Catcus flash works fineADAM R : As just a transmitter/receiver system, the v6 can work with most any hot shoe flash gun and camera system. They do have built in profiles for many brands as well. This is for balancing the output of several flashes of from different brands. However to use that feature you need a v6 on every flash as well as your camera. Hope this helpsJ. ALAN M : If you shoot Sony cameras get a Sony flash! The cactus is programed for 5 brands of cameras` flashes, including Panasonic, Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Olympus from ANY camera using a standard hotshoe or PC synch. If you use Sony camera with Sony flash you`d get 100% compatability without needing to spend extra on a trigger. You didn't indicate which flash you shoot and how many. The V6 is best for various Off Camera Flash, even of mixed brands. The V6 will also trigger studio strobes or a camera with a shutter cord. Sony in the past did NOT use standard hotshoes, is yours standard?ANDREW M : Yes you can! They are universal with all brands.WAYNE C : Sadly, no. It only has support for Panasonic, Olympus, Pentax, Nikon and Canon. It totally boggles my mind that Sony is not included.GARY C : I think it is, I have found it to be compatible with a Leica, Ricoh, Canon, it is very versatile . But I bought and sold a Sony A7 before I had the cactus, so I am not certain, but I would presume yes

Love it!

Works easily, simple to set up.. one thing to note, if your camera is in screen view mode, you might have issues getting cactus to work. Once I realized that, it worked flawlessly makes things simple!

Great Transceiver worth getting

I have used the cactus v4 and v5 the new v6 is wonderful and I use the grouping feature often with it. I have recently started using it with the Cactus RF60 Flash and have had 0 misfires with any of the flashes I have used with it.

Nothing Prickly About It. Easy Set-Up, Easy Use

I called Adorama looking for another, more expensive, trigger, and the salesman steered me here. Thank you, salesman! Easy set-up for the Nikon SB-90s and D7000 body. Had more trouble with the Sony A7ii, but Cactus online support was great, walked me through the steps and...turned out the A7ii had a defective hotshot, and is now in the shop. Fine product, fine service.

Value

These units provide a lot of features, ease of use and are reliable at a great price. While they are somewhat large they are not heavy and therefore do not bother me. At this price you can keep several extras on hand should one fail although I do not see that happening. The best part is that they work with different camera and flash manufacturers. If you need a wireless flash trigger you will be very pleased with these Cactus V6 units.

Triggers That Speak My Lingo

Simple! When I first tried to use them, they wouldn't fire and gave me the message my camera was in bulb mode. My camera wasn't supposed to be in bulb, and by looking at all the display settings I never would've known it. (I was wondering why I wasn't getting optimal images!) So thanks to these prickly little cactus (cacti plural?) I blew out the settings on my camera and got it back on track. Oh yes, and they fire just perfectly! I have 3 and I'm looking forward to all sorts of great images in every location! Best!

It has it all without high cost

I got 5 V6's and 4 flashes. I love it that I can meter with my Senokic L758, and change the setting on each flash with with the 5th V6. The setup is pretty simple and there are some great instructions on YouTube. I read about them from a great review over at Pentax Forums. I looked at Pocket Wizard, but for the price, these V6"s do everything I need.

Truly One of The Best New Products Out

I have 3 of these for my Phottix Mitros flashes and they work great. Was so easy to set up; just went into the menu found the flash profile and all was set. Made everything a whole lot easier for my 3 light set up. Surely out performs the more expensive brands on the market today, and extremly cost efficient!!!!

Very capable strobe controller.

It can communicate with almost any recent TTL capable strobe via a simple menu system providing individual channel control of flash output. Very reliable. And it uses common AA batteries. I haven't found anything negative about it. Will be buying more soon so that all my strobes will have their own.

Very handy

I bought this along with the companion flash to save steps when using flash off-camera. So far it works great, just as advertised. (I have only used it to control the flash, have not tried it as a remote camera trigger.) Build quality is not quite as nice as the flash, but does not seem to be a probem. The battery compartment is a snug fit to some high-capacity rechargeables, so they can be difficult to remove.

Great New Gadget

The V6 from Cactus was responsive and well built. It took a bit of time to set up as a Nikon trigger. Now that I have everything set it's a great part of my gear! I have two and may get more! Definitely recommend them.
