I've been using this for over a week. It snapped on like the original eyecup, and has not fallen off. Great product.

Somehow, I lost the eye cup off my 5DSR. Needing to use one, I robbed one off my 5D Mark III (which looked the same) for temporary service on the 5DSR. This substitution demonstrated that the two models could use the same eye cup, despite the lack of listing of the 5DSR as one of the models this cup would fit. I ordered this model from Adorama, and when it arrived I replaced the substituted cup with the new one and returned the substitute to my 5D Mark III. Both worked perfectly. (Since I had two 5DSRs, I was confident that the two models shared the same eye cup, even before I did the original substitution and ordered the eye cup.)

Bought this eye piece for a winter photo session out in Montana and the eye piece still fogged up in the center area a couple of days during my trip. It was snowing and in the low 30's eventually it cleared away. Luckily it didn't completely fog up, but still wasn't fun. Didn't fog up the other shooting days though when it was just cold weather.

exact canon replacement for eye cup I lost while hiking lava fields on the Big Island. Fast service surprise considering my usual delivery times from Adorama.

I lost my original eyecup somewhere in the fray of shooting outside. I'm not sure the issue, but I'm not sure the original one was ever clicked on completely. The replacement came quickly, fit perfectly and snaps right into place! I was going to order an off brand model, but I think it's definitely worth the price to go for the Canon option. Another happy Adorama ordering experience.

I lost my eye cup for my Canon 5D Mark III while on a shoot the other day. Called Adorama and they sent me a replacement ASAP.

It's a stock Canon eyecup. It works exactly like the one you lost. I always have one extra 'cause they come off sometimes.

Replaced a part with 7 years of field time. The rubber eye cup eventually wears out but is a simple replacement with this producy

I'm a sports photographer for a major university. I typically use two Canon 7D's at an event. I used an aftermarket eyepiece and it fell off the first time out and I lost it. The Canon replacement has been through a few events now and had remained in place. Lesson to be learned. Put a Canon on your Canon.

When you take your EOS 7D out the morning after an all-night shoot in a dark nightclub only to find the eycup is missing, you can order another one exactly like the one you lost. This is it. It not only fits the 5D and the 1, it fits the 7D. So, if you lose the eycup for your 7D, this is the replacement.

It fit my EOS 7D perfectly. I actually use this as a viewfinder blind by modifying it with black plastic and metal tape (to protect bleedthrough shooting Infrared pictures.) It works much better than the flimsy rubber blind that came with the camera and is much easier to use. Just slide the original and slide this one in its place.

Very expensive price for an item that can not really be cleaned well-the coating is easily removed and then you have to buy a new one.

In cold or humid weather the Anti-Fog Eyepiece Eg accessory attaches easily to reduce condensation and help you maintain a clear view of your subject.
When warm air touches cold glass, moisture in the air is condensed. Camera and binocular finders are no exception. In photographing at a cold place of ski or skate, the breathing of a cameraman or moisture transpired from his/her eyes dims the finder.
For this reason, you cannot concentrate your attention on photographing or miss a decisive moment, and it was a troublesome problem for professional cameramen who are required to perform accurate photographing all the time. The anti-fogging eyepiece was developed to solve such problems. Subsequently, eyepieces for binoculars were also marketed and are demonstrating their effectiveness for bird watching, astronomical observation and other activities.
As the conventional anti-fogging technique, methods of drying with a hot-wire heater and of coating with a surface active agent such as wax are available. But these methods cannot be used for optical products because of such problems as surface accuracy and durability. The anti-fogging technology developed by Canon is to absorb moisture with a thin membrane of moisture absorbing polymer formed on the glass surface. Since it maintains a stable state with almost no physical change, it is optimum for application to optical products. Although the amount of absorbed moisture is limited, moisture naturally evaporates. Through repeated moisture absorbing and transpiring, it maintains the anti-fogging effect for a long time.
