This is a good sturdy lens Hood. I had first tried a knock-off that didn't fit my 58 mm Canon lens well and it was easily knocked off. I tried to save a few dollars but it wasn't worth it. So I ordered this original Canon lens Hood and it fits the Canon lenses perfectly. It locks on with a quarter-turn rather than screws on like a lens filter. Easy on, easy off. I highly recommend this product and Adorama was very good to work with.

I don't know why Canon doesn't supply a lens hood with every lens but that's how it is. The important part of all this is the excellent service Adorama provided. After all, what can you really say about a lens hood? They packaged it securely and well. They shipped it quickly. Those are the important takeaways.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago, after considering an after-market lens hood. I opted for the Canon instead as I have an after-market on another lens and the fit on that one isn't just quite as good. I'm glad I got the brand name version. Has been good so far, and fit is perfect.

This lens hood is a perfect match to my EF-S 55-200mm lens. Absolutely blocks out unwanted sun flare when photographing in the direction of the sun. It also helps reduce the amount of dust on the lens when shooting photos on windy days. I've used it on rainy days as well and it definitely reduced the amount of moisture on the lens element. If you are a wildlife photographer, or doing any type of photography outside in unfriendly environments, this is a must have accessory for protecting your lens investment. Awesome accessory for a really great price.

I have tried other brands but the original Canon hood is the best fit for the lens and with way better quality material. More expensive but worth the money.

I use this is my classroom with my students. Once these were added to the cameras, the students captured much more stable shots and the creativity rocketed......definitely a great purchase for our school and the future photographers out there.

Appears to maybe have a left hand thread. Won't stay on and if it does, its a fight to get it off the lens again. Basic junk.
