Impressive!

This 25mm EF Tube extender works amazingly with my Canon Macro 100. I purchased to add to my lens along with a 12mm extender tube, then I purchased the Fotodiox Pro Trio extender to stack with these extenders, Now I Have a Super Zoom, adding the Fotodiox Pro creates a bit of disconnect, you just have to move it a bit to make the connection, All in all All these extenders together work Magically, and may I say Handheld too! I was able to create some amazing images capturing a single grain of sand with no problem.

Succinct close focusing without loss of quality, AF speed or vignetting.

Flawless and snug attachment, with no wobble. Works very well with my EF 800mm 5.6L lens, with swift, uncompromising autofocus unaltered and no vignetting.

This was a gift for my wife.

The extension tube arrived when promised and performed as expected. I have experience with extension tubes and film cameras but I didn't know what to expect when she used it with her digital and autofocus stuff, but the results are great.

great bug shots

Use this with my Canon 6D and 24-105 3.5 STM IS lens. I didn't want to spend the money and purchase the Canon 100mm macro. I wanted the extension to shoot bugs and flowers. Works wonderfully.

Better than after-market

Canon extension tubes on Canon lenses are the best choice. In my experience they work better than after market tubes: Smoother mounting, consistent electrical communication, completely on axis, i.e. the lens alignment remains perfect. Yes they cost more than some, but this is a case of getting what you pay for - quality, consistency and durability.

Good Intro to Close-up/Macro Photography

Well made Canon accessory that works well with Sigma 2.8 70-200. Less forgiving under 200mm. I tried it with Canon 24-105 but minimal focal distance and max focal distance was very narrow and difficult to find focus. the EF 12mm might be a better option for shorter lenses.

Quality build

Quality construction. For stationary subjects, I can pair this with my 85 mm prime, but I take many live insect photos, so I prefer to pair it with a 70 - 200 zoom that allows me to shoot with less disturbance of the animals and less likelihood of shading out ambient light.

Great additionn to my gadget bag!

If you want to get into Macro photography and don't want to purchase a dedicated Macro lens this is a great way to start. I usually shoot landscapes so this is great for me, does a great job but does take some practice. My first shoot was indoors and the results are great!

So Cool!

I have worked with extension tubes that do not talk to my camera and it has been so much nicer to have one that does! Granted to autofocus still gets a bit fussy, but overall I am extremely happy with it and exploring a world with a super shallow DoF!

Moderate Extension Tube

I bought this extension tube to be used with my Canon 100 mm macro lens, because there are times when I want to go past 1:1 ratio. This moderate extension performs as expected, with perfect match to my Canon equipment, preserving the necessary electronic functions. If Canon made a 50 mm extension tube, I would buy it! I am considering buying the special MP60 lens, the only one I know that works in the 1:1 to 5:1 magnification ratio for macrophotography.

Not good for medium lenses (50 - 100mm)

I bought this to use with my 50mm 1.2L and 24- 105mm f/4L and no matter how carefully I focus it; focuses a max of half inch size of the subject that too at about 1 inch distance from it no matter what your f-stop is. By the way auto focus is out of question. And other weird part is from 50mm - 105mm you have 2 inches of space to move from the object in order to be able to focus. So unless you are using a tripod and your subject is stable, there is a good chance you might end up focusing different part than what you want. Not sure but I guess it might work better on telephoto lenses.

Love this gadget

I wanted an extension tube to use for insect photography and this was the first one I bought. I wish I had purchased the 12 II first. this is a little difficult to use, at first, with my wide angle lens. Still, I really like it and it's added a whole 'nother dimension to my photography. Lots of fun.

Works well

Using this on a Canon XSi and the 2.8l USM Mk II, autofocus doesn't work well. I use autofocus to get close to focus, then swtich to manual focus to dial it in appropriately. On the 50mm 1.8, it works OK for autofocus.

Easy entry into macrophotography

If you are beginning in macro, there's plenty to learn. Begin without buying an expensive macro lens and see whether or not you enjoy macro photography. You can put this between the body and any lens (though a moderate telephoto is easiest to use) and instantly reduce the minimum focus distance of that lens. If you need more, then stack it with another extension tube. Note, however, that you will have to remove the extension tube in order to get back the ability to focus at infinity. If you do later buy a macro lens, the extension tube may still prove useful. Canon's is sturdy and reliable.

Works GREAT!!!

By Aly

I bought the tubes, to photograph some fine artwork and jewelry, along with other small objects. It works wonderfully. I like that you can use it with the EF-S lenses as well as the EF lenses, the AF works well, but I prefer to use the manual focus.
