the perfect lens hood for my 18-55mm lens. this will replace the non-Canon lens hood i was using. This is far superior to the unnamed brand i had before this purchase. . This lens hood does not "crop" any image corners and can be used for all lengths of my 18-55

I bought this item thinking it was going to fit my lens. It's made really great and sturdy. Apparently I bought the wrong one and tried to return it. The return shipping costs way more (from HI than the product so I just kept it even though I can't use it.

The EW-60C lens hood does the job it was intended to do. It goes on and off the lens easily. It is small and my camera with lens and hood attached fits in my bag without any hangups.

A shade for a kit lens? Seems like a waste of money. But this does help keep the sun away from the lens. The only bad thing is that it goes on and off hard.

The product is useful to prevent flare, and to deflect semi-hard knocks. It is light, packs small,is inexpensive, and generally simple. It has two questionable issues: 1.It is not really sturdy enough for frequent mounting and dismunting; and 2.You need to be VERY careful to mount it properly. You have to be gentle, and be sure you have the lens flange tabs aligned wiith the shade cutout slots. If you try to screw it in, you will ruin the shade slots. Clear alignment dots would help a lot.

Some aftermarket parts works. Others do not. Lens hoods are the one item I buy factory made. When I wanted to purchase hoods for all my lenses, I bought one aftermarket hood to see how it would perform. I mean, a hood is a hood, right? Uh no. The aftermarket hood I purchased came in this weird two-piece design, the front edge of the hood appeared in some of the photographs, it was designed to be screwed on to the lens/filter threads instead of the hood threads which Canon designs into their lenses, and it couldn't be reversed for proper storage on the lens. Stick with Canon hoods. They are more expensive but worth the money. This is one thing you don't want to cheap-out on.

its an ok shade but in reality i might look for a metal one where it screws to the lense. But ill use this one for sure for a quick hood.

Very fast delivery. Easy to put on and take off of lens. I have had this lens hood for only a short time, but I am ready to start taking portrait shots of my grandchildren using this hood with my lens.

You definitely should have a lens hood for this kind of lens. Especially on sunny days or when there is light coming from all directions in a room or other venue, the hood restricts the incoming light to image-forming rays, and prevents flare from off-axis rays and those bouncing around inside the lens from the side. It also helps protect the front of the lens from dings and raindrops. Never leave home without it!

This lens hood is a genuine Canon product, so it fits perfectly. I use this hood on my 18-55mm kit lens and also on my 55-250mm Canon lens. Its made of a thick, durable plastic so it is pretty rugged. I wish Canon would supply this hood with the kit like they do with the L series lenses, but oh well.

Check to see if you have to lock the lense and/or put on manual focus when attaching.

Lens hoods are invaluable when photographing in bright light, whether indoors or outdoors, in preventing flares in your photos.

A lot better than some other poor design. However, it works as it is stated in the specification.

This non-OEM lens hood is OK as far as it's function...it attaches to the lens and functions as a lens hood. Howeverm the material is considerable weaker than the OEM lens hood and does not attach as smoothly. For the price, it is OK in function but less so in quality of materials

Best used on a wide prime lens. On a long zoom it has little effect.
