Why the shape??

The lens hood does a good job of protecting the lens but not too impressed with the flare prevention. Not sure what the deal is with having a flower shaped lens hood. A simple full circle would have done a better job of preventing flares.

Well designed but expensive

By

from Perrysburg, OH  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

Too bad Canon doesn't supply hoods with all their lenses. The hood is very well designed. It is rather expensive (Canon's fault, not Adorama's) for a plastic hood. Protects the front element and prevents loss of contrast from stray light.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
RICHARD T  Trip to Yosemite National Park
Shopper  Is this compatible with a canon rebel lense 18-200?
RAY R  It might fit, because both lenses use 72mm filters - but that doesn't mean the external threads will match. If it does fit, it might interfere with your images when you go wider than 28mm.
Shopper  is this a 72mm lens hood for the Canon 18-135 IS lens?
DIANE M  Check the MM size on your lens. I bought this for the Canon70-200 2.8 lens. You have to really snap it on tight because if did you you don't, the stupid thing keeps coming off. I am rethinking this purchase.
