Questions & Answers

Shopper : How do I know if my lenses (for Canon EOS) are 52mm ?ANNETTE C : If you look around the top of your lens, there should be a little symbol that looks like a circle with a line through it. Behind this symbol it should tell you if its a 52mm or just what size it is. Hope this helps.MICHELE B : Every lens has a different circumference usually marked on the lens. If you still have the box and paperwork it will indicate it as well. JOHN R : This is not a fully logical answer, but my Nikon/Nikor lens that is 50 mm fits with an outer protective lens that is 52mm and the Canon 52mm cap fits right on it. Regards,SHERRY S : on the rim of the lens it should have printed: 55mm or 58mm or 72-300mm or the like. It should be printed in white numbers. The lens cover should also have the mm size in black on the inside of the lens cover. Hope this helps.ROBERT R : it should be printed on the other side of the lens capGEOFF R : Look under the lens cap on the front of your lens. There should be a circle with a line through it, followed by a number in milimeters. This is the circumference of your lens.RICHARD D : It should be printed on the end of the lens or you can google that lens and it will tell you the size.RAZA N : You will have to see your lens. It shoul say the size. But the cap I bought didn't fit in my lensMICHAEL G : The thread diameter will be written on the edge of the lens.
RANDY M : I HAVE A CANON ZOOM LENS EF-S 18-55MM 1;3-5.6 IS 58MM LEN WILL THIS CAP FIT , AS I HAVE LOST THE ORIGINAL ?JAMES M : No, the 52mm cap will not work, but if you goggle for a 58 mm Canon lens cap I am sure you will find one. Go online to the Canon website and select the model of your lens or camera and you can probably come up with a Canon part number. I bought 2 because they do not clip on to the lens front as good as they used to on the older Canon 35 mm cameras; T50 & T70's. Good Luck.TERRI R : I don't believe so Randy-The lens cap for my Canon 18-55mm lens is a E-58.SHERRY S : I do not think so. I ordered some new one and it didn't fit my 18-55mm. I had to order one for 55mm. Amazon has it for about $ new. I have a 58mm also and it is not a fit/not interchangeable. My suggestion is to order a 55mm and if that fits( no reason why it shouldn't) go ahead and order two or three along with cap for the other end and an extra one for the body of the camera. In my experience the models change faster than the cameras go bad, and parts begin to quickly get scarce or non existent. Hope this helps. I lost mine and after I re-order (the second time for 55 mm) I found the original...go figure!RICHARD D : If it's a 58 mm lens then I don't think a 52 mm cap will fit.MICHAEL G : The 18-55 uses a 58mm filter and cap, so this one won't work. Adorama does carry the 58mm ones though, as I have bought one in the past.

what can I say, it's a lens cap

I will admonish Canon for sticking with the WORST lens cap design. At some point, they will have to admit this design is poor and copy Nikon.
