I have 2 Canon 1DS Mark II, 2 Canon 5D Mark II and two Canon EOS 1N bodies and every one of them has a grid screen installed. A must have in my book.

I shoot all the marketing pictures for my commercial construction business and the focusing grid is very helpful in ensuring verticals stay vertical in my shots

I have been using grid screen for the last 10 years. They are great for helping to keep the hortizon level as well as set the proportions of an image to fit within a 4x5 format (e.g., 16x20). In my book the grid is a must have and I wish Canon included it with every camera. My only complaint is that is a minor paid to install -- installation requires that you remove the body cap or lens and risk getting dirt into the body (and eventually onto the sensor). Not hard to install but requires working carefully and cautiously.
