L : I wanted to use this in between a Canon 580EXII and an umbrella adapter - will this work?WARREN W : I cannot answer this question based on your equipment, all i can say is that i used this item and attached it to a bracket that had an extra 1/4 threaded hole, this then gave me a means by which i could attached the wireless shutter release receiver, what i did worked great. I actually cut the tightening knob off the threaded shaft and used the threaded shaft to connect the shoe to the bracket and then locked it into place with a drop of Loc-Tite. I can provide a picture of this connection if you would like one, just let me know.STEVE M : Actually I don't think so, as it turns out I'm sending mine back because if you take out the adjustment piece to attach it to the 1/4 -20 on the light stand my SB800's are way too lose...ANGELA P : Wish I could be of help but I am so sure. A very handy accessory for CB brackets

I use this to hold a slave flash transmitter coupled to my SB-600. The unit is made for a CB bracket and unlike something you'll have to adapt, this matches perfectly. There is no twist nor wobble and the transmitter remains firmly attached to the bracket. I wouldn't play around trying to jury-rig something else to the bracket. If you are serious about your photography, get this if you plan to use additional accessories with your bracket
