Hiya, 4.5 stars if allowed. This unit has been holding up very well. Gobs of Grunt for more most casual speaker sets. Audessey set up okay. Taking advantage the DSX or PLII Z I've been able to integrate height speakers very well for a lot of cinema nights on a 9.2 system. Often some very nice stuff, try BD AVATAR many scenes, very expansive. Using an AC Infinity Aircom S-8 in-cabinet cooler I have had zero problems with dissipating chassis heat for less than $100 and an easy fit on top of the Denon. Check AC Infinity out btw. About the only complaint I have are the weird menu structure and inexplicable restrictions like no one-button push to tell you what the input signal specs are. Then ther is Denon's baffling decision that in order to have 'PURE DIRECT' output to your Front L&R, you need to have entirely separate speakers hooked into the AVR from the two that are your FL and FR in Multi-channel. Coming from old Yamaha AVRs some of the inflexible aspects of Denon are a pain. -- Overall, I'm not looking to change my AVR. For the $1K I spent 8 years ago, 4.5 Stars today.

Denon's last(?) Japan-made AVR is still worthy of respect.
