Yes I would buy this product again'

I used it with my D700 shooting on events. The thing that I like most is During the 5 hours event I did not feel pain like when I'm using the original strap of my camera. As of now since I've used it for only one time I don't have a negative comment.

Much needed length over factory strap.

I needed a way to carry a second camera. I am often in situations I need long distance as well as wide angle shots so a second camera was my only choice. The factory strap was way to short to make anything comfortable. This strap does the trick. I was able to adjust the length to keep my second camera handy at my hip. The slide allows it to be raised to shooting level with ease.

Problem with metal parts

Main problem is that the metal parts that attach to the camera tripod socket are so large that they scratched my camera body and possibly could damage the LCD screen on the back of the camera.

So safe, So comfortable

Very comfortable and easy to adjust. The hidden steel cable makes me feel very secure about the attached equipment (>$10,000).

Excellent camera strap

Yes, I know I put a lot of negative caveats in this review. I use this strap all the time. Here is how to improve this strap. First thing, you must know it attaches to your tripod socket on your camera, so if you use your tripod a lot, you will be constantly taking off the strap. I like redundant, failsafe systems, so I did not trust the only connection being the screw-in to the tripod socket. I attached a large sliding spring clamp to the strap with a short line that connects to the camera body at the metal camera strap connector. Even when I remove the tripod socket connecter, my strap is still connected to the camera by my secondary connection now. When you carry the camera at your side or behind you, use another quick clamp to secure the strap to your belt loop at your side so it does not bounce around. I should patent my imporvements.

Comfortable and Safe

Really comfortable to wear even with heavy DSLR body and long lens. Easy to lift camera to eye and shoot - not fishing out of the bag and miss the shot. Secure with the cable to prevent the camera being cut from the strap by thieves.

New Camera Strap

Just purchased this item. It will take some getting used to but it will be alot better than having a heavy camera hanging on your neck. Once adjusted I will probably cut some of the strap off to cut down on some bulk.

Great travel strap

I carried my Canon EOS with a 18-200mm lens all over the Med last spring for 2 weeks and found this to be a comfortable secure way to carry my camera and have it available all the time for quick shooting. Would not think of using anything else.

Comfortable strap

This strap allows quick access to your camera and hides it behind your hip when not in use.

Much better than the neck strap

I didnt like the neck strat the the DSLR comes with it... when I saw this one... look like a winner... and it is. Very confortable and ease to adjust. I only wish that it have the stopers as the BlackRapid.

Great sometimes. Not so great others.

This is a very comfortable strap for extended trips with the camera. It releives the pain in the neck and the camera bouncing on the chest or swinging forward when leaning over. Not so great is that it is slower to just grab the camera and throw the strap over your head. Although the camera doesn't bounce on your chest, it also doesn't stay at your back. It wants to slide to your side where it is subject to banging into things on the side. Also not so great is the tripod screw is occupied, the camera doesn't sit level when put down, and the strap takes up alot of space in the camera bag.

Overall excellent, but a little pricey

It's a strap, so all the normal strap stuff applies. Here's why I like it: 1. It moves freely along the strap without changing the position of the strap itself, so the padded section stays in place and when not in use the camera drops comfortable by your side. 2. The padded screw attachment is very secure. I've used it for several hours consecutively in very active situations and it's never even started to loosed. 3. The strap is not only padded, but has a "bungie" that absorbs some of the tension (not that there is a lot anyways). My complains are few: 1. In very active situation (lots of moving between shots) when using a relatively long lens the camera slings around from the front of your body to the back. This would not be a problem with this particular product, but any product with a similar design. 2. It's a little on the pricey side. As a note, there is a newer (albeit more expensive) version of this product now as well.

Is it worth the money? YES!

When I looked at the price of this strap I thought no way. But the more I considered how much I hate all of my straps I decided to give it a try. All I can say is that it was well thought out and is made to last. The camera just glides from your hip to your eye and the shoulder padding never moves. One of these is going on ever camera I own now. I can't imagine working all day without it.

Quality of Life -Enhanced

I use a battery pack on my d90 and with a speed light the weight gets uncomfortable with a traditional neck strap. I had researched these shoulder straps and was glad to see one of my final choices on special at Adorama. I was also happy to see the actual shape was slightly curved and the padding was excellent. The shock absorbing feature also seems to be unique and adds to the comfort. This picture on the online store only shows the logo and not the shape or the thickness of the padding. Both are very good. I am 6' 2" tall and the strap fit perfectly without adjustment. I just got a d7000 and don't have the battery pack (yet) but with a Speed light it still gets heavy. Don't hesitate to buy this well designed strap.

MOST inventive and Useful

I had seen the ads and it looked like exactly what I was trying to do with my regular strap. I finally invested in one and WOW! This is what I have been needing all along. All my neck and back pains are now history. The strap is set up exacctly as you would use it. It is soft, flexible, padded and does not snag. Once hanging, your hand naturally goes to it and lifts up and back down just like the ad. If you are into quick up and shoot, or photo sniping, or quick candids, or 2 lens rotations...this is perfect. No more having a heavy DSLR hang on your next and give you back and nexk pain, especially aftr long day in the field. Transport is now easy and the weight is distributed really well. Also, it's so finely adjustable that it fits exactly where you want it. My only down side is I wish the bearing screw came standard. I bought it seperately because i felt it was needed. The regular screw works well, but allowing a natural pivot rotation is better and less likely to get unscrewed. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Should have bought sooner

This strap is so comfortable! I've been shooting with SLRs for 39 years and have never had a strap this comfortable. Your neck doesn't get stiff and the camera can be put in shooting position just as fast as a neck strap. When the camera is hanging on the strap, it is completely out of the way. I wish I had bought this sooner!

Great product

I used this for the first time at the 2010 SEMA show five days for 12+ hours a day with my Canon T2i & with 15-85 lens. It was awesome, I could not have managed that long with the standard canon neck strap.

A better mousetrap

This strap positions the camera for comfort and convenience. I carried my camera with a telephoto zoom attached from 8am to 2pm while shooting a swim meet. The weight was well distributed and the camera was easy to grab when I wanted it but was otherwise out of the way. I'm so glad I found this product.

Worth every penny

Great product. I feel like my camera is much more secure on this than on the neck strap, plus it is much more comfortable to have my camera hanging on this. The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is becuase you have to completely remove the device in order to mount the camera on a tripod. But that's a minor drawback for me.

Rides on my side not on stomach

I used to get tired of the camera bouncing on my stomach. Now it just glides to my side securely tethered but ready for quick access to shoot the shots as I see them develop.

Incompatible with tripod

DISAPOINTMENT! The attaching screw eye is TOO SHORT to accomodate my Silk tripod quick release foot and necessitates one-or-the-other use. Bolt should be about 1/8 to 3/16 longer. Other than that, appears to do exactly what I wanted - get the weight off my neck.

Camera ready for action.

My main reason for buying the Sun-Sniper was to keep the camera at my side and to stop the chaffing to my neck, caused by the factory strap that came with the camera. This strap solves both issues. I take action shots and do quite a bit of walking with the camera at my side. This strap allows my to keep the camera at my side while still having the ability to raise it to my eye very quickly without having the strap get tangled or in the way and without rubbing a hole in my neck! Very simple yet very effective. I like it ALOT, as it makes my job easier to do.

Great tool for the Pro

This is such a nice tool to have. I know there are others out there, I just happened to buy this one based on the weight of reviews for it. It's easily adjustable, the connection point is strong, it has a shock absorber, and the camera slides up and down the strap. With this, I can put the camera to my side and free up my arms for other things. The big thing is, I don't look like a tourist.
