I made a side by side comparison on the same print. The Marshall was superior to Spot Tone, in that it did not over darken, instead the product allowed one to build up a density gradually to the desired surrounding density with re-application.

Folks, this is a simple concept. Choose or mix the proper tone and fill in the white blank. Do it carefully it takes some practice and concentration. Brush in layers until you reach the desired value or darkness. Balking down this product is really like saying that your skill level is not up to par,... yet

I used this replacement spot tone and found that the spots looked worse. I called and they said that the former spot tone had been discontinued. They said because of the digital era now.

Exactly what I was looking for to touchup prints.
For spotting and retouching all types of photographic prints, from full matt to glossy. It penetrates into the emulsion and will not rub off. Produces a full scale of true photographic values to match tones on any print. Applied with a water color brush, it can be used for sharp line of soft blended out-of-focus areas.
