About Cavision 4x4"" Linear Polarizer

• Polarizer filters give you several key creative features.
• They evenly increase color saturation of all colors (except black and white), creating deep, rich scenics. They add contrast for dramatic skies and ariel shots. Polarizers eliminate the whitish glare from highly reflected surfaces like glass and water.
• Polarizers are two part lenses that rotate, allowing you to select the degree of additional saturation, contrast and glare reduction desired.

Cavision 4x4"" Linear Polarizer Features

  • Ideal general use outdoor color filter.
  • Gives the same deep contrast and glare reducing properties to black and white photography.
  • Combines with Red filters for incredibly dramatic landcsapes.

Works as Described

This polarizing filter does exactly what it should. It reduces reflections and slightly increases saturation. It works best with a matte box and won't fit certain on-lens filter holders due to its thickness. I tested it using a Canon 600d (T3i) with various Canon, Sigma, and Tamron lenses with a Proaim V11 mattebox.

Works, But Won't Fit Lee Holder

By

The filter glass is clear and packaged well. Although it works as described to polarize light, the filter is too thick to fit the Lee Foundation filter holder .

Questions about this item:

Ken B  Can linear polarizers work on DSLR's or do I need a Circular one? Thanks Ken
EDWARD H  It depends, Linear will work... but it may effect auto focus and meter readings and run the risk of exposure errors (+/- 1 stop). In general; if you are manually focusing and exposing for video and checking your exposure through a monitor, the liner is fine. if you are planing on using auto focus and auto exposure you will need a circular.
