Great Viewfinder, But More MFT Size View

from Connecticut/New York  -  Semi-pro videographer

The previous reviewer is correct, this is def a much more cropped feel to it in terms of image size... almost like a 1.8x crop or closer to 2.0x. Bear that in mind when using this... it actually works great for MFT style cameras. In fact it almost lines up with the spec exactly which is mainly what I personally use it for. Simply KNOW your crop factors and you'll be fine when applying this to any style camera. I highly recommend this as a budget, scouting viewfinder. I've used this for pro shoots and it's works wonderfully. Just again make sure you're aware that this should only be placed to gain placeholders of how you want to setup your shots, do not rely on it, but use it as a simple 'shot estimation' tool.

Works but highly inaccurate

from Northern Colorado

It works but it is highly inaccurate. Going off the 35mm focal lengths listed on the Cavision viewer it is completely wrong. To get a 50mm image in the viewfinder you have to set the barrel to about 25-27mm. A 35mm image is about 18mm on the viewfinder. Now it may be off because I wear glasses that force the viewfinder to be about 2cm away from my eye but I doubt that would cause this much difference in the focal length. In short, the focal lengths on this Cavision viewfinder are wrong. Compare it to your own camera, write in the new values, use those values to measure shots. When you do that, this thing works awesome. Honestly, for this much money these focal lengths should have been more accurate.
