Has a major flaw

I purchased the Cokin system for my NikonD800 for landscape photography for a trip to Southeast Asia. I placed the adapter ring on my UV filter on my Nikkor 17-35 F2.8 lens. The test worked well. Next I placed it on my Nikkor 28-300 mm lens. When I tried to remove it, the adapter would not come off. I googled the problem and found other users with the same problem. I plan to use my Cokin Graduated ND filter without the adapter or the holder during my trip. My recommendation for this adaptor is with reservations.

If you use the Cokin system, this item is a must have item for adapting your lenses to the filter holder! Works as it is supposed to & used when shooting with my lenses that have a 77mm filter thread.

Threads lock up

By

from Beaver Falls  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I have several of these adapter rings and they tend to lock up on my B&W F Pro filters. I have used lubricants with some success, but sometimes the rings have locked up so tight I thought I would have to cut them off. The tolerances on the threads are too tight. The rest of the system is OK. Care must be exercised to prevent scratching the filters.

Performs as well as rest of the system

I a;ready own the components of the P system for other lenses. I use them all the time for landscape photos. ( a must have) they work very well and are easy to set up and take down, do not take up a lot of room in the camara bag and to date seem very durable.

What a piece of junk!

By

from Santa Clarita, Ca.  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I got this along with the GND Filter Kit that comes with a holder, but no adapter ring. The adapter ring is flimsy and the threads bind on both my lens and my UV Filter. I'd rather hand-hold the filters than use this. I'll be returning this!
