About Cokin

The COKIN CREATIVE SYSTEM consists of 3 main components: An Adaptor Ring + A Filter Holder + 1 or more filters.

The COKIN Filter-holder can be precisely adjusted and attached to the lens by means of a screw-in adaptor ring. A change of camera or of lens necessitates only a change of adaptor ring, not the Filter-holder nor the filters.

The COKIN Filter-holder has four grooves. One holds round filters, which can be rotated in the groove. The three others hold square filters which can be adjusted up or down at will.

The Cokin Advantages
• Same filter for all your lenses by just replacing the adaptor ring.
• Rotate, slide, decentre in all directions for more precision and creativity
• Wide Range of Filters The COKIN A & P Series include a complete range of over 180 filters for a maximum potential of creativity, while the Z-PRO & X-PRO Series contains over 90 filters among the most used by professionals.

Most Liked Positive Review

I wish I'd thought of that !!

I especially like this product because of its ease in use. I used to hate having to screw filters onto the end each of my lenses. Now, I can place a holder on each lens (relatively cheap) and all I have to do is slide the filter in and out of the holders. It's very easy to use more than one filter at a time, too. There are so many filters that one can buy for this system that make it extremely versatile. I seriously doubt that I will ever buy a conventional screw-on filter again.

An essential part of the Cokin system. It is easy to use to make landscape photos standout without having to resort to extensive post-processing

Holds a circular polarizer/filter +

By

from East Coast NJ  -  Casual Photographer

I had originally bought a Cokin circular polarizer thinking it was the type that screwed onto the lens. After it was delivered, I realized it was made for the 'P' system. I shopped around for a Cokin P holder and some of the descriptions weren't clear. Some reviews and descriptions mentioned the Cokin P holder as being a 3 filter system, while some mentioned it as a 3 filter PLUS a circular holder. Anyway, the price for the holder was good, so I took a chance and bought it. (Return policy was good if it didn't work out.) Once it arrived, I put the circular polarizer into the very first slot and it was a perfect fit, AND there are still three slots available for square filters.

Exceeded Expectations

I trust this inexpensive mount with my best filters. It mounts easily, holds the filter exactly as placed, and can take abuse. I give them to friends.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Will this work with the canon T3 my lens is 58mm?
DALE J  Yes, so long as it uses a screw in filter between 48-82mm. You'll need the P system adapter for your filter size to attach this to the lens, then of course you need P system filters. May also consider a lens cap if you don't want to take this on and off.
Shopper  For use with 77mm lens?
CHARLES L  I have used it on my Nikon 28-300 mm lens and my Nikon 17-35 mm F2.8 lens. Both are 77 mm. My biggest objection with the system is it can get stuck on the UV filter and be very difficult to remove. There are several U-Tube videos on this topic. I purchased an additional UV filter and use the Cokin system only with the separate UV filter. I purchased a filter wrench from Adorama for added assurance. I successfully used the Cokin system on a recent trip to Southeast Asia.
Shopper  my teacher said for me to use a p filter on my canon 7d...is there a link to make sure I find the right one or is this a universal ring? I know nothing about this. I am wanting to take it for landscape images that are extrusive in time.
DAVID H  Yes! You buy a holder ... and a ring that fits your lens (same as your lens cap size), and then any P size filters you want ... Truth is, you will probably end up doing what most people do ... Just hold the filter in front of the lens! But ... Buy the filter first, then the holder/ring. If you have several lens with different size diameters, you need a ring for each size ... Still cheaper than buying a different filter for each size. Yes, go with "P" filters and the "P" holder and rings. Enjoy ...
