Description
· Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens.
· They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc.
· They also saturate colors and increase contrast.
· Polarizers come in two variations but have the same effect. Linear polarizers work with older camera meters; circular polarizers are designed for today's newer slpit-beam metering systems used in auto focus cameras; check your camera's manual.
The X-PRO Universal Ring was specifically conceived for the wide-angle zoom lens Nikkor 14-24mm, which has no filter thread and can't accept any threaded filter or filter-holder. Thanks to the new COKIN X499-N Universal ring, you can now use polarizing, ND or gradual filters just like with any other zoom lens. Furthermore, with large sized X-PRO filters, there is no problem with vignettingyour wide-angle landscape images with a DX sensor.*

The X-PRO Universal ring does not thread onto the lens, it fits on the lens hood. It is attached with the 8 screws provided, which guarantee total steadiness. Once attached, you will enjoy the simplicity of the COKIN creative system: slide the filter-holder in the adapter ring and use all the filters needed to create beautiful images.
