Questions & Answers

RUSSELL J. N : How do you know the best position for the telescope counterweight?BRIAN R : Quite simple Russell. Just adjust the weight until it balances out your scope. I usually give the scope a gentle push from side to side and if it remains still once it's come to a halt, you are good to go... Good luck
douglas k : What is the wall 12 volt electrical outlet to plug into for this telescope ?
Andrew R : How would this scope be for astrophotography? I'm planning to buy for someone using an Olympus OM-D EM 5 16 mp digital mirror less camera. ThanksMICHAEL D : hi i actually tried both scopess. the iOptron 152 and the celestron 6". i have poor eyesight and found that both were too dark for me to do much viewing. I'm currently using a Stellarvue 102ed with mush better results. 4" of cleara apperture. i hope this helpsCARLOS F : I would recommend a c9.25 instead for astrophotography. Collimation will be less critical with this scope. TRACI D A : Also, these scopes have very good guiding, which requires good polar alignment but is essential for longer exposures.TRACI D A : All the Schmidtt scopes are good for astrophotography. The images tend to be sharp and the scope is portable and easy to set up. You might wish you had gotten a larger aperture, though.BILL K : You'd need the proper adapter to mount the camera to the scope (not a big deal), but the scope will also need tracking for photographing deep sky nebulae and such (it probably has this, but ask). At the very least images of the moon should be spectacular. Astrophotographer folks are also using image stacking software, stacking dozes of images of the same thing to gain better detail.
