Orion Adapter

By

Orion sells an adapter for its Maksutov scopes that will fit this Celestron. With the adapter ( about $20) all SCT accessories will work on this Celestron.

May be more than I needed

By

Bought for a spotting scope for shooting. 8x21 Erect Image Finderscope was useless in locating target. Had to move scope around alot to find. You definitely need a heavy duty tripod with a solid base to use this. It shakes ALOT on a std camera tripod. I also tried to use it to look at stars, but did not have the proper filters to do so. This scope may be more than I need for spotting targets. Eye piece would be better if it had a rubber cup. Was difficult to look thru.

VALUE'S WORTH

By

Returning from France I decided to get a telescope for a friend there. Talked to several people including my friend..i came to same conclusion he did, for the money, you get the best of everything with use of both kinds of lens and a very strong name brand. Though i did not "ck it out" all the reviews, etc. gave this scope very good ratings.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
BRIAN G  A fantastic scope for the price. It does a great job on the moon and standard objects. Not strong enough with this eyepiece package for rings on saturn but well worth for a starter scope. It is small enough to hold in your hand for earth objects.
Shopper  Can a Digital SLR be attached for picture taking?
THOMAS H  The 5" scope has a 1.25" and not a 2" eyepiece opening. You could attach a dslr to a Tring and 1.25" adapter, but I think you will get some vignetting.
robert d  how doi get 10% off ?
RON C  This has nothing to do with the 10% off, but I returned the telescope because of inferior black reflective paint used to "minimize" internal reflections - this lead to poor contrsst images. Be warned!!
