Works Great With Windows 7 64 Bit

I have two computers both running Win 7 64 bit and have no problems with this imager. My laptop has a built in webcam and it defaults to that when I run the software, but the software lets you select between the two. It also works fine under Linux Ubuntu or Mint (64 bit or 32 bit). It's a great bargain.

windows 7 64 bit

Windows xp, no problem. Windows 7 64 bit, non functioning. Celestron had no explanation. They said they were sorry it doesn't work on 64 bit and they were done. I asked what software would work with it on win 7. Never got a reply. Wishing I hadn't wasted money on the cheap product at this point.

Great novel gift for your techie

This is cool. Just like you see on tv shows, but on an affordable scale. Nice to share microscope views with those around you on your monitor; I have dual monitors, one a 32" Sony Bravia, and the other a 46" Samsung.

Good bang for the buck

I use this as a quick, cheap way to capture images for later reference. If you want photo quality this isn't the camera for you, but it's a decent reference camera for under 50 bucks. You can't go wrong for that.

Great value!

I purchased this imager as part of a series of reviews of digital imaging for student microscopy. This item is less than half the cost of the closest competitor at wholesale! Yet, it rivals cameras costing several hundred dollars. But, its real strength is the software. It's easy and works with Windows 7. Of the units tested this was a first. It's a great value. And, will really be helpful for home school parents in that it will ensure that the student is seeing what they are expected to see. It was purposely tested with a microscope that can typically be found in better toy stores, the My First Lab Duo-Scope. Thus, these images are the baseline and it can only get better with better microscopes.
