About Celestron

A T-Adapter allows you to attach your 35mm SLR camera to the prime focus of your telescope or spotting scope. This arrangement is used for terrestrial photography and short exposure lunar and planetary photography. It can also be used for long exposure deep-sky photography when using a separate guidescope.

Both a T-Adapter and T-Ring are required to mount a camera to your instrument.

Works as expected

Works exactly as expected. Threaded on the back of my CPC 800. Using the requisite camera adapter, I was able to easily attach my DSLR.

Very functional adapter.

In the past I used a universal t-adapter that slides into the visual back of my NexStar 6SE. That required me to refocuse while using the camera. Now, with this new T-adapter, I don't have to touch the focuser because it brings the focus point at the same distance than my 40mm and 32mm eyepieces which is very neat for me.

T-Adapter for Nikon D700

By

from Birmingham, MI  -  Avid Adventurer

The T-adapter worked perfectly on my Nikon D700 and I would suspect it would work well for any standard Nikon mount. I used it to connect the camera to a Celestron 8" Schmidt Cassegrain telescope for astro-photography.

This is a simple device, adequately constructed and works well for me, doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Works like it is supposed to.

It is a standard T Adapter, that fits in place of a 1-1/4" Celestron or Meade visual back

GREAT ITEM [...]

By

from Gilbert, S.C.  -  Casual/ Recreational

For prime focus astrophotography this unit is great, especially with a f6.3 field reducer. The unit is easy to use and very stable. I have a Celestron Nexstar 11 on a CGEM mount using a Pentax DSLR and get great results. The attached photo of the Orion Nebula, 40 sec. exposure is nice.

Celestron T-adapter

By

from Philadelphia, PA  -  Avid Adventurer

Want to use your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope as a super-telephoto lens? This is just the ticket! Allow any camera, via T-adapter, to attach to the telescope - a 5" scope becomes a 1250mm f/10; an 8" scope becomes a 2000mm f/10. Great for prime focus astrophotography or spying on people 2000 ft. away. Very well made and robust. Highly recommended.

Questions about this item:

rick h  i have a nikon D3000 camera and want to be able to use with my clelestron 8 inch schmidt cassegrain telescope for astro photography. will the t adapter and t ring work.?
MICHAEL P  Assuming you have a t-thread adapter for your Nikon, this should be just what you need. This will connect directly to the back of the telescope, and your Nikon to T adapter will allow you to screw the camera on to it.
rick h  thanks i will order now.
Shopper  In conjunction with the proper attachments should I purchase a focal reducer for using my DSLR with my F/10 SCT. 2030 mm. focal length?
JOSE R  If you are taking astrophotographies and imaging deep sky objects instead of planets, yes. The focal reducer helps minimize the amount of time you need to expose with your DSLR. But if you are taking images of planets or terrestial objects, you don'n need it.
Shopper  I have a sony nex 3n mirrorless ditg.camera what adaptor do I need once I remove the lens from the camera to use on a celestron nexstar 8 telescope to attach to rear cell of scope?
THOMAS R  I don't own your specific telescope or camera, but in general, you need 2 adapters to connect your camera to the telescope. First, you'll need the appropriate Celestron T adapter, which threads onto the back of the telescope. Then you'll need a camera T adapter, which threads onto the back of the telescope T adapter and has the appropriate lens mount to fit your camera. You might want to do a search Adorama's web site for "t adapter sony nex" and see if any of the adapters which show up look like the correct lens mount.
