About Celestron

A T-Adapter allows you to attach your 35mm SLR camera to the prime focus of your telescope or spotting scope. This arrangement is used for terrestrial photography and short exposure lunar and planetary photography. It can also be used for long exposure deep-sky photography when using a separate guidescope.

Both a T-Adapter and T-Ring are required to mount a camera to your instrument.

Works as expected

Works exactly as expected. Threaded on the back of my CPC 800. Using the requisite camera adapter, I was able to easily attach my DSLR.

Very functional adapter.

In the past I used a universal t-adapter that slides into the visual back of my NexStar 6SE. That required me to refocuse while using the camera. Now, with this new T-adapter, I don't have to touch the focuser because it brings the focus point at the same distance than my 40mm and 32mm eyepieces which is very neat for me.

T-Adapter for Nikon D700

By

from Birmingham, MI  -  Avid Adventurer

The T-adapter worked perfectly on my Nikon D700 and I would suspect it would work well for any standard Nikon mount. I used it to connect the camera to a Celestron 8" Schmidt Cassegrain telescope for astro-photography.

This is a simple device, adequately constructed and works well for me, doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Works like it is supposed to.

It is a standard T Adapter, that fits in place of a 1-1/4" Celestron or Meade visual back

GREAT ITEM [...]

By

from Gilbert, S.C.  -  Casual/ Recreational

For prime focus astrophotography this unit is great, especially with a f6.3 field reducer. The unit is easy to use and very stable. I have a Celestron Nexstar 11 on a CGEM mount using a Pentax DSLR and get great results. The attached photo of the Orion Nebula, 40 sec. exposure is nice.

Celestron T-adapter

By

from Philadelphia, PA  -  Avid Adventurer

Want to use your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope as a super-telephoto lens? This is just the ticket! Allow any camera, via T-adapter, to attach to the telescope - a 5" scope becomes a 1250mm f/10; an 8" scope becomes a 2000mm f/10. Great for prime focus astrophotography or spying on people 2000 ft. away. Very well made and robust. Highly recommended.

Questions about this item:

John L  will this fit the rear cell of a Celestron 127 slt?
SHANE E  Yes, it should work with the Celestron 127 SLT, as older Celestron docs indicate that their SCTs and Mak-Cass scopes such as the 127 SLT use the same Visual Back.
Shopper  having great results with my T-adapter on my nexstar 8 telescope however can anyone tell me if I could use this with a 2 inch low profile diagonal from celestron because my current setup prevents my scope from slewing to zenith without hitting the base??
Andrew R  Unfortunately no, I don't believe so. From the manufacturer: "Remove the lens from your camera and attach the T-ring in its place. Since the T-ring is camera-brand specific, it will snap right on just like a lens. Next, remove the diagonal and visual back from the rear cell of your telescope. Screw the Celestron T-Adapter onto the rear cell threads until secure. Now, thread the T-ring & camera onto the T-Adapter." The instructions specify removal of a diagonal.
Shopper  thank you barry m. for your input about the focal reducer question however I would like to know if this would benefit the exposure time since I can not afford a autoguider now ? George Budko.
ROBERT B  This item will change the f-stop from f10, to f6.3. Both the exposure times will shorten, and the images will be smaller, proportionally.
