About LensPen

The Lenspen SensorKlear Loupe Kit contains three separate tools to help ensure the sensor of your DSLR camera stays clean and free of image-degrading dust. The SensorKlear Loupe provides a magnified view of your sensor and enables you to detect if and where the dust is on your sensor. The Hurricane Blower permits quick and easy removal of dry dust by simply blowing it off. The SensorKlear II pen permits more critical dust removal for sticky dust and more difficult particles.

A clean sensor is a happy sensor

The lighted loupe fits onto the camera body and has an access opening for cleaning the sensor with the Lenspen. It is easy to see what you're doing. I was actually amazed with the results. A little bit of patience and a delicate touch goes a long way when cleaning the sensor.

Lenspen SensorKlear Loupe Kit by LensPen

It would work on big pieces of dust. But for those tiny little ones(which are normally the case), this set won't work. I am afraid that I have to go back to the wet cleaning method.

Cleaned some stubborn specks

By

from SF Bay Area  -  Semi-Pro Photographer

I was immediately able to do a light cleaning to my sensor, well enough to avoid having to pay $$ for the shop to do it. This saved me time as well, and was not as tricky as I had feared. The loupe is not great quality: the LED's throw spotty light and the optic is mediocre at best. Should be better for the price. Still it can get the job done, and I feel that I definitely will be able to make good use of it.

So, that's what the sensor looks like.

By

I was nervous about cleaning my camera sensor since I'd never done so. I was spending too much time with software sizing spots on my images so after researching products selected this LensPen kit. The loupe is great! It allows you to examine the surface in detail. After blowing the loose dust off, the lenspen tool removed almost all the rest of the dust. I don't think I could have done nearly as good a job without the loupe.

Perfect for cleaning sensors

By

from athens, georgia  -  Semi-Pro Photographer

The loupe helped me find the dirt that was not visible with the naked eye. Then the lens pen picked up the dirt perfectly. I couldn't believe how easy it was, especially after reading so much timidity on the Internet about cleaning sensors. I worked slowly and with a light touch, and everything came out great. Afterward I took some test shots of a white wall with the lens stopped down to f22, magnified the image on my computer, and sat surprised and pleased that I could find no dirt on the sensor. The trick of course is working slowly with a light touch. The camera is a Nikon D600, which is gaining a rep for more than the usual dirt.

OK but not as good as hoped

By

from Chester, VA  -  Semi-Pro Photographer

I bought the kit mainly for the loupe. However the loupe does not seems to have a wide field of vision and good focus. I found myself constantly tipping the camera to see dust reflections at an angle. I don't know if that would be different with any other loupe. It did get the job done, though, but I found the pictures of the sky at f/22 were better indicators of where dust was in the final analysis. No video explanation of sensor cleaning was unqualified positive about using the SensorPen. In fact, the one that did use it said it was always necessary to follow up the pen with other methods because the pen left "little black particles" - not a good thing for a sensor cleaner to get the sensor dirty, is it? The air bulb included is OK, but the Gitto 7.5" rocket is MUCH better.

Fair to Good Cleaning Tool

By

Light is a good feature; not as easy to use on sensor as expected.
