The highly anticipated Crimson Trace Universal Rail Master Laser Sight is an instantly activated universal laser sight for Picatinny or Weaver rail equipped pistols and rifles. The CMR-201 marks Crimson Trace's first universal fit laser sight and built with the industry leading quality, ergonomics and fit.

I put this on a SigSauer P220 in 2015 and have used it ever since.
 
 As a red laser, bright light such as daytime makes it hard to see the dot - especially if one has let the batteries run low. But it works well in low-light applications. That is to be expected of a red light laser. 
 
 It has held zero through 1k rounds and the rigours of EDC.

Gen1 Glock 19 with rail

This is my second CMR-201 Rail Master.
 The first one lasted for about 30 days and the Laser output was approximately one percent.
 I returned it and received a new Rail Master.
 This one lasted about ONE DAY. Promptly placed it into the trash. Every other Crimson Trace I own, approximately a dozen has worked for many years. The only exception was a fairly old one they stated was no longer in production. Well that one was also disposed of which put me in the red for about $300+ I will not buy another Rail Master 
 But your mileage may differ. : )

Great laser for your pistol. Very bright. I especially like the on-off switch on both sides. Very easy to reach while holding the gun.

My wife & I use a Blackhawk nylon holster # 4 RH-OWB. For the Glock 23 what I did was set the pistol for proper depth & pinched the holster then drew a pencil line on the holster. Then I sewed it with upholstery thread across the holster. I finished it off by putting silicone caulk on the holster so it didn't shred where I cut off the bottom to the proper length. It's not a great holster but certainly a good holster that works with this laser. The Glock 22 I did nothing to the holster. I hope this might help people & give them ideas for this style of laser. I didn't want to increase the grip width for any Glock 22 or23.

Installed on my CZ P01. Good fit. Easy to activate. 
 Was hoping it might be visible at my outdoor range but it wasn't so I took it to my indoor range zeroed it rather easily and it is dead on accurate . Makes both eye open shooting much easier snd allows quick target acquisition. POA =POI out to 15 yards for my setup.

CMR 201 on a CZ P01

Received it and mounted it as per directions. The end of the laser extends beyond the front of the pistol. Not hard to sight in and sharp beam. Shot about 30 rounds and everything seemed good, but a couple of days later, noticed the beam with the pistol just sitting on the dresser was going on and off.
 
 Contacted the company and they said this laser does that when the battery gets low. I had not turned it on since the my sighting in session. The sent me a new battery, installed it and shot about 50 rounds over two days of shooting. Noticed no problems.
 
 A few days later noticed the laser was coming on by itself and I could not turn it off with the right side button, but could turn it off with the left side button. After getting it turned off, I noticed the laser was coming on getting in and out of the truck and when I would pull it out of the holster to lay it on the seat. I could turn it off , but soon it would come back on by itself.
 
 I noticed it came on by itself when in the holster as I was walking through a store. I turned it off when i got back to the truck and then it came back on when I was walking through my garage after I got back. I turned it off and then I turned it back on to test the 5 minute automatic turnoff. That part worked.
 
 laid it on my dresser while it was off and when i woke up, I tried to turn it on to test it and nothing happened. The battery was dead!
 
 Giving up on this laser. Doesn't fit my pistol. Batteries burn up fast. The type of battery it uses is expensive and hard to find. Not something you can just find at Walmart. And I still haven't received my rebate back that I mailed in several weeks ago.

Not for Taurus Millennium Pro PT145

I'm very pleased with this product. It's form, fit, and function are as expected. I went with red over green for price and battery life. I marked it down one star because it is not sufficient for outdoor daylight use. That doesn't bother me.

is not worth the money

My new Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 came with an integrated version of the 201. Needed slight elevation adjustment to fit my distance need.
 The activation switch is taking some getting use to for turning on. Would love to catch one of the two for one sales to purchase the laser’s I need for two of my other weapons. A great USA made product .

All purpose laser

Went on easily. However it is missing the #1 insert! I just bought a CMR-206 and it was missing the same plate!

Product came quickly and the process was easy, I’d recommend this company to anyone.

This is excellent.  It took me a f ew minutes to get it mounted because I took off more than I had to do - my fault.  It is quick and accurate.  Well worth the $$$$

This is excellent

This laser sight can be used on any firearm with picatinny rails.  The switches are easy to activate without being sensitive to light pressure from holsters or any other incidental contact.  It works well in front of a forward grip on an AR15 and M4 with a picatinny railed hand guard. The laser is bright and easy to see and the batteries for life makes it a fantastic bargain.

Easy to install and use

Crimson Trace is the go to brand for firearm lasers. It was easy to install and looks great on my pistol. The laser lined up with my iron sights at 25’ straight out of the box. Due to a manufacturer promo I have another one on order for my AR-15 and I can’t wait to get out to the range.

Although it is listed as universal, it will not fit the P-365. The grooves on the pistol are too far above the bottom.The 2 screws that hold the unit on the pistol do not clear without any adapter installed. The one I bought is being returned. Will have to wait for the special one for this pistol! Otherwise GREAT unit!

Great fit for my Sig P226 9mm. The compact design is great. I bought a brave response holster and cut the stitching for the trigger guard, its a perfect fit. Didn't need much adjusting out of the box, drilled a target from 10 yards first shot. Now adjusted to 30 yards. I highly recommend this laser.

PERFECT!

Small and efficient, still have yet to replace/get free batteries from crimson trace.  Only downside is the rail mount broke during shooting.  May not handle heavy recoil, so now I have it mounted on a 22lr.  Crimson trace handled warranty repair quickly and without hassle.

I took part in a promotion at my local gun store, Second Amendment Sports, in palm desert, Ca.
 And was able to pick up two railmaster for the price of one. They are mounted to my wife's xd9mm sub compact and my glock 19... his and hers.

Excellent product

I purchased this cmr201 laser a few months ago when my local shop had them on sale and crimson trace had there get one free sale going on. I put the laser on my Springfield xde 9mm which is my edc I had to stop carrying it as I couldn't find a holster to accommodate the laser when I Finally found a local custom holster maker I had him make me one that would accommodate the laser and it fit very well but the only problem is where the power activated switch is on the laser it turns the laser on while holstering which isn't going to work so that sucks. Overall the laser itself tho is very nice and was pretty much dead on right out of the box at the range and its very well lit.

Would purchase crimson trace products again

The price was a deciding factor as well as the manufacturer's reputation. Have not taken to the range as of yet to fine tune the aim on the intended pistol. However I expect the laser system to be everything I was looking for as a add on to my pistol.
