Great, simple, minimalist cable with lock for large format lenses. Inexpensive enough to mount one on every lens and durable enough to leave it on all the time.

I use many cable releases like this that stay permanently attached to my large format lenses. This particular release has a cloth jacket - supple, flexible, durable (and black) and it's narrow gauge and flexibility make it easy to just screw into the cable release thread and leave it there. Flexible enough for me to just wrap the whole thing around the lens when it's not in use. Has a simple little screw lock for those occasional long exposures and otherwise the lock stays out of the way. Can't think of a more elegant design for what this release is intended for and Adorama has pretty much the best price on a new one. Will buy this again!

Look nice, but action is rough. Have two, and both are identical. The conventional black cloth covered kind are much smoother.

My only gripe is that its a bit short. other than that, this is a great cable release to keep the camera steady for low-light, nighttime long exposures, macro, and tripod work. it's as basic as cable releases come, and thats all you really need. it's small so it'll fit into any camera bag no matter how cramped your bag may be. it'll fit in a pocket in a pinch, too.
