Holga 12" Shutter Release Set

Next to film this a MUST Have. Gives you the best opportunity to get a sharp shot when using a tripod. Sharp my sound like a contradiction when talking Holga but it really makes the "Holganess" much more pleasing and at a $1.50 a shot for film and developing you want the best shot to start in the camera. Blur it in Photoshop if you want that effect. Plus when used on a tripod it helps you slow down and really think out the shot. (Thanks Ted from the Art of Photography podcast) Added plus, it is very well made and should last the life of the camera. Did I mention it looks really cool on the white Holga?

While I loved this product, and used it quite a bit while I had it, it broke within the first week. And I haven't been able to fix it.[...] I don't think the breaking is typical of the product, I just think I had a faulty one. Also, I disliked how it seemed that when I pushed the shutter for a long exposure, the cable seemed to twist my camera. So I'd have to tape my camera to the spot or use a tripod. But I don't always carry a tripod with me.

Very easy to use and install. Took me longer to get it out of the package than to put it on my Holga. Would be sweet to have one 6-10 feet long for self portraits or holding a light source. Anyhow, cheap, easy to use, essential equipment for anyone even mildly interested in exploring what the Holga can do.

The shutter release cable is easy to put on the Holga and start using. Just position it in front and slide into the lens casing of the camera until it snaps into place. The shutter release function feels smooth when trying to trigger the camera. Removing the shutter release is just as easy as putting it on. I'm quite satisfied with it's function whenever I use it and would recommend using it with the Holga for any long exposure shots.
