Questions & Answers

SERGIO R : Will the 2" clamp hold firmly to a tripod or is it too big?CORIOLANA S : It depends on the diameter of the tripod legs. It should be OK. If it slips a little, use a folded-up paper towel or something else to serve as a shim. Most important: Be very very gentle with the entire McClamp. Too much flex, and the grey elements will pop or the McClamp will break. If this happens, contact the very nice guy who makes McClamps, and he can advise how to reassemble or perhaps provide a replacement.BRIAN S : I use the Manfroto 3221WN tripod and the big clamp does not fit tight on the leg. The clamp is too big.TERRENCE R : It is too large for my tripods and I believe probably most except the really heavy duty ones. I use it mainly for indoor macro where I can clamp it to a table edge. Outdoors I use the McClamp with the ground spike.GAVIN S : It is a bit big for my Sirui tripod but it will hold around the largest leg joint on the tripod. It would depend on which tripod you are using. I am sure you could use a piece of rubber in the clamp to get it to hold better.
MIRANDA P : Hi, I would like to know how much weight the micro-clamp on this product can hold?BRIAN S : It holds my 12" fabric reflector/diffuser just fine, but will not support my 18" diffuser. Hope that helps answer your question.

Difficult to use

The flexability of this unit is to rigid. Difficult to get subject placed how you want it due to the rigid design

It Works!

It holds everything I've tried at the angle I want. A little stiff but workable.

Now you can improve the composition and sharpness of your photographs with the McClamp. The McClamp will help you get a better composition with more control of your subject and will help eliminate wind effects for improved sharpness. The McClamp holds gray cards, diffusers, background fabrics, reflectors and more. The 2" main clamp (opens 1 3/8" - 2") mounts to a variety of items including table edges, tripod legs, and fences and is a popular tool for backyard, indoor or studio work.

The Micro-Clamp is used to hold objects; it features hard plastic outside jaws for holding firm subjects and soft neoprene interior jaws holding delicate subjects. 26" flexible articulated arm moves to any position and remains stiff. Soft rubber pads will not scuff or scratch carbon fiber tripods. Mount clamping jaws have adjustable spring tension from 0-50 lbs. This allows the photographer to change the tension to fit their gripping power. The McClamp works for all age groups.
