The controller has issue with the left joystick , when pushed all the way down to make drone come down(reduce altitude) the stick actually stays down & does not return to middle position. I am going to evaluate before returning for replacement, because DJI wants the complete drone returned as well,, a LOT of packaging,re-boxing,shipping & time.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this drone. Updated the firmware before anything. Watched some YouTube videos to get familiar with the controls. Calibrated the compass. Set auto take off. Unit takes off and hovers in place. Pull the left joystick and up and away she goes. Very stable hovering in moderate breeze. GPS does a great job holding the drone in place. The video is so amazingly stable. I’m so impressed with the 3-axis gimbal and the camera. The quality is better than 1080 (2.7 K). Flown it about 10 times so far. Transmitter charge last two or three flights. The DJI app is great. Lots of information. I tried the auto return to home yesterday and it worked as advertised. Love it.

I was once an FAA flight instructor, when I fly the phantom It's like I'm back in the sky again! Love the GPS And camera. Controls are responsive and the phantom Responds beautifully!!

First I couldn't get it to operate off of an old tablet we had in stock; so I bought a new phone. Now the new phone says it needs updates. I am not a computer person. I just want to take aerial photographs for my advertisers.

We received a defective product the first time but the customer service team was great working with return and then our new product was on back order but we were notified weekly of the status and now we have our product and it works amazing! Only complaint was several times I called it was hard to understand the person on the phone due to where they were from.

This is so easy to fly. Charged battery, installed app and away she flew. I bought this to pair with my DSLR to make short films. Having a drone like this will give my movies size and scope - thus making them appear to be made on a bigger budget then they were. Took my buddy out and he fell in love. Plus at this price it's a no-brainer.

I believe the Phantom 3 Standard drone is be best value for the price out there. It doesn't have all the fancy features of some of the higher end drones but it has everything you need for basic drone flight and quality photos/video. It has GPS positioning for reliable hoovering ability and a number of safety features including return-to-home and for low battery or lost connection. The DJI Go app makes operating the drone and capturing, saving, and sharing media easy. I recommend this drone to anyone.

This drone is awesome, especially for the price. I was afraid I would miss not having the 4K camera and the extended range, but I can honestly say that I don't miss them too much. There is just so much to love about this drone. The HUD on the iphone app is amazing, and gives lots of detail. The drone is very stable in reasonably windy conditions, and takes great photos and videos for most applications. The Point-Of-Interest feature creates awesome pans around a given spot or area - you can adjust the height, diameter, and speed. Sure, there are things I would like to have on this drove - like some sort of night vision or powerful lights for night flying (not very practical, and not something found on any drone I know of), a servo that would allow a button push or mechanical arm to be attached (again, not practical but it would be fun), added flight time (can just buy more batteries), additional range (there are kits to extent the range, but I don't think its that big of a problem - the range is still fantastic), the ability to fly in the rain (not practical, I know - but that tells you how much I enjoy the drone, that its a bummer when I can't fly it because its raining outside). The range easily reaches 400 ft high and 1000 ft away. Signal strength is indicated by the HUD, and the drone will "come home" if it loses signal. There are a ton of features I still have yet to try. If you've got the money to spend, go for the Phantom 4 (or one of the higher priced 3's). But if you are wanting great bang for the buck, you should not shy away from the 3 Standard. It is awesome.

Fantastic drone. Very easy to fly. I strongly recommend first viewing the numerous youtube videos about setup, flight tips, etc. They are very helpful. I spent a few hours viewing the videos and reading reviews before flying because you cannot afford even one mistake. By the time you first take flight you will feel more prepared. This is incredible fun, and the video is amazing! I shold also mention that my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 android and the interface with the drone has worked flawlessly. I have had no problem whatsoever.

The DJI Phantom 3 Standard is everything a beginner and a seasoned veteran R/C'er will want. It will fly itself, take off and even land by itself if you want. If not, you can man the controls and fly with or without gps assistance. The camera is clear and responsive. Don't hesitate to buy this. If you are reading this, you already are wanting a drone. This one CANNOT be beat for the money.

I've always wanted to do aerial photography. Finally these got affordable and I'd been wanting one for years. It's easy to fly, has good flight time, good camera controls and navigation options. Very steady in wind. If money was no object I'd get a Mavic for portability.. That's the main disadvantage of the Phantom 3, but otherwise it's a joy to use. Video looks great. Stills are ok, but I'm not sure if that's my lack of experience or the camera. Not quite up to my M43 set up, but with a little tweaking in adobe Lightroom they are pretty good, but not as good as I expected....still it's a very affordable way to get aerial photos/video. Prop guards are time consuming to install, but recommended for beginners, but then defeats the need for a backpack.

I sent in my drone to DJI to fix SD memory card issue while still under warranty. DJI snapped me with over $170 repair fee claiming "Tampered Device". I've not opened or tried fixing the craft at all. While pressing for evidence of "Tampered Device" for more than 2 weeks, I finally got a response after tweeting the lack of response at DJI global website. They then grabbed my flight record WITHOUT my consent and said that there was a "crash". I asked them what their definition of "crash" is and got no response for over 2 weeks. Users beware. DJI will find every excuse of not repairing your drone while under control. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had. Will not buy another DJI product in the future.

Don't expect this to be an inexpensive hobby. The drone is amazing when it works. When it crashes, and it will crash, it is expensive. My first drone, the Phantom 3 Standard had a slightly rough landing and flipped over, sending the camera tumbling off. DJI wasn't going to be able to look at it in time for my Mexico vacation, so I had someone else look at it. It was going to cost more than it was worth to repair. I bought the Phantom 3 4K to take to Mexico. I managed to get 84 minutes of flight time before the drone flew away of its own accord. Just took off into the sunset, never to be seen again. All instructions were followed precisely. Flyaways are very common. Google it. DJI's CEO is on record as saying flyaways are a problem, and yet DJI ALWAYS blames it on pilot error. DJI has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Here's what they say: 24 complaint(s) filed against business Failure to respond to 18 complaint(s) filed against business 1 complaint(s) filed against business that were not resolved Business has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints

I wanted this really bad for Christmas, but missed out on the the good deals, so I waited...a couple of weeks later I got word that the price was dropping, jumped on Adorma and bought the Standard. Received the Phantom 3 about 3 days after ordering, packaging was great, DJI's packaging is awesome, the Phantom flies as advertised, never flown quad copter before, DJI made it simple. I love it. The ONLY thing that would make me get something different would be a higher quality camera, I do a lot of still photography and would love a 18+MP and possibly a zoom lens, but short of that, DJI for life.
