Jim C : Hi I was curious if this product has RoHS3 documentation? We have a customer who requires Light tight ventilation.
Rich P : Is this one grill or two? Do I need one for each side of the wall? My goal is air movement from one room to another w/no light transfer. Thank youLYNNA H : I cut a hole in a door and fitted it into one side, then taped up the edges on the other side of the door, so I only needed one. You probably only need one if you are ok with having the interior of the wall exposed inside your darkroom (like an open hole in the wall) -- otherwise, get one for each side of the wall but don't expect a ton of airflow (in my opinion). I wish I had installed a fan in the wall, sucking fresh air into the darkroom rather than just a louver.KEVIN H : It is two grills assembled as one unit. The two louver package is about two inches deep. It has a flange on only one side, for mounting to a wall or door. It is designed be installed on just one side of a wall or door. Mine is very light tight, but if a strong beam of sunlight hits it directly, as happens in my space at a certain time of year, then I need to shield it from the direct light until the sun moves past the window.NDC I : This is for 1 louver. Light-tight louver for small darkroom.

Product was as described, it looks like it will work. I have not installed it yet. The plastic should take latex paint, if that matters to you. Dimensions are nominal-- it will fit in a 12x12 inch hole, the outside dimensions are probably more like 15x15. Assuming it is sufficiently light-tight (I'm using it on an interior wall), I will use a plain air return louver on the other side. Note, if you plan to use it on an outside wall there is no provision for insect/rodent screen or to block the airflow in cold weather. You may want more than one if your darkroom is above 150 sq. feet or so (mine is 110 sq. feet).

Light tight vent is light tight!

I'm very pleased with this light tight vent -- exactly what I needed to ventilate my darkroom and keep it dark. With the lights out in the darkroom, it's just as black as the solid wall. I'm impressed!
