Bought this to convert any bag into a camera bag. It works but is a bit bulky. I would have preferred something more rectangular than square. I'm not happy that there is no padding on the bottom.

The insert is great, but theres no padding on the bottom of it to protect underneath the camera. I rolled up a towel and placed under it and it works great now.

This insert is a perfect size to use for Digital SLR camera equipment. I store 2 lenses, a flash and battery charger in the three compartments. I don't use this with the Domke bag - mine is nestled alongside 2 other Domke inserts to hold my equipment until I need to grab the right combination for a photo shoot. With a growing inventory of photo lenses, batteries, chargers, and so on, I needed a way to protect and store equipment that I wasn't carrying with me. The best thing about the Domke inserts is that you can mix and match to suit your equipment. Its modular, and therefore easy to store on a shelf or in a box or bag, and when on the go, you can just pick the insert with items you need, pack it into your camera bag, and be off. I searched the internet for a while before I discovered these, and I'm so glad I did. Could be a little prettier maybe, but function scores big.

I have tried about every camera bag on the market and I found Domke products unrivaled for their simple, direct functionality and dependability. All of the rivals to Domke products are modular units where you build up compartments out of velcro pieces. In my experience, the velcro pieces always come loose and allow equipment to bang together or turn into a pile. Also, the Domke partitions are not black, so you can find things in the bag. Lastly, they do have some competitors, Billingham by name, but though Billingham makes some large compartments, they do not make large enough ones for say a my Nikon F3's or N-90's. I use them in my Domke bags and in in third party bags that AI bought in misguided moments. By the way, even some that have been used heavily for over ten years have never torn or come apart.

Great for protecting a camera and extra lense in a light shoulder bag.

I purchased this product to use when bicycling. I take my camera equipment with me everywhere I go and needed something to organize and protect the equipment when I put it in my saddlebags. I have one insert in each bag.

Domke's exclusive, patented design prevents small items from wandering between compartments, and allows you to pre-load and store Inserts outside the Domke Bag. Preparing for a shoot is as easy as dropping in the Insert(s) you need! Inserts are 8" deep to fit most classic Domke camera bags and satchels. All inserts feature removable outer wall cushions so you can increase or reduce the padding around your equipment.
Built to hold a camera body with lens attached, plus two extra lenses or flash units. 7"Wx6"Dx8"H-18x15x20cm
