The Faraday Black Hole Data Bag Kit is a true advancement in mobile forensic RF shielding that replaces the need for a Ramsey box. The bag has an integral shielded, electronically filtered, USB 2.0 connection that allows for charging and analysis of devices without compromising shielding. Included in the system are the Data Bag, a separate Faraday bag for transport and a device cradle that allows use of capacitive touch screen devices inside of the data bag.
The Black Hole Data Bag Kit is the first Faraday bag with a fully shielded USB 2.0 cable integrated into the bag, allowing devices to be charged and analyzed in the field or laboratory. Simply connect a device to the USB block inside of the bag and properly seal the top of the Data Bag. The shielded device can now connect to a computer, forensic analysis device, or portable power source via the external filtered USB connection at the other end. Because the USB cable and connections are completely sealed into the bag, the most important aspect related to shielding effectiveness, very little to no RF signal leakage occurs during examination or charging.
Forensic examinations can take place using the filtered USB port, while suspect devices remain shielded. The window allows investigators to see and operate devices, preview evidence, track battery power, device condition, connection status, charging status and stage of examination. To increase the level of shielding during transport through unknown signal environments, the Faraday includes a separate extra large non-window transport bag to ensure the highest level of shielding.
All components in the system - the Data Bag, the Transport bag, the Touch Screen Cradle and a laminated instruction card come in a protective plastic tube for usage and storage.
