Very impressed with Explore Scientific 82° Series 8.8mm Eyepiece (1.25"). I have the Explore Scientific 82° Series 4.7mm, 8.8mm, and 14mm. Also have Explore Scientific 68° Series 24mm, and Explore Scientific 52° Series 30mm eyepieces. Excellent build quality and visual experience. I use these on a Celestron 8SE and Celestron C5.

I love my new Explore Scientific 82° 8.8mm eyepiece! It has showed me some great view so far. Shipping was fast and received in about 5 days after ordering. I will definitely use Adorama again for future purchases.

I have never used Televue eyepieces, so I can't comment on them, but at less than 1/2 the price, this is an excellent eyepiece. It gives pin point images of stars nearly to the edge.

Using advanced computer design, combinations of low dispersion and high refractive index optical glasses and durable multilayer deposition coatings, Explore Scientific 82deg. 8.8mm Argon-Purged Waterproof Eyepiece is optimized to produce high contrast, high resolution and superior flat field characteristics. The visual effect of this eyepiece with its long eye-relief and 82deg. apparent field is truly a full-immersion experience. Your eye is relaxed, allowing you to easily use the "averted vision" technique to study faint details across a huge field-of-view.
This eyepiece is meticulously assembled into precision machined metal lens barrels that maintain the perfect alignment of the optical train for years of rugged use in the field. This eyepiece comes with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raises to the desired height for the comfort of the observer and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope.
To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel, as well as the edges of the lenses are flat black to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves.
