Good product!

The flash worked well as a slave to my Canon EX.

Great...while it lasted.

It was working wonderfully as a slave flash for extra light - I loved the results and the photos were great. However, one month later, it no longer works - it fires intermittently when I try to trigger it with my on-camera flash. Same thing when pressing the test button - it fires intermittently. I tried fresh batteries - the ready light is on, but most of the time it doesn't flash.

Great Little Flash

This is a great flash. I ordered two of them to use in my home built studio. Of course they do not replace an expensive lighting system, but if you are on a budget they will do the trick. One downfall to these units is the sync speed. If you use the optical sensor and allow your on camera flash or another flash to trigger them, then you will have to slow your shutter speed WAY down. These guys need at least 1/25th of a second from the time your flash fires to the time they fire. What this means is that you either have to have ghosting on your photographs, or make sure whatever you are shooting isn't moving.

works as adverised

Not as well made as the Vivitar SF 3000. Attachment screw pulls nut out of the plastic connector. Works about the same. Attachment bar is plastic vs Vivitar's metal. OK as an inexpensive slave flash.

Great Little Light

I bought this light for the feature of being able to adjust it to ignore the Pre-flash, for use as a fill flash in shooting portraits and table top product shots. For use as indicated above, these are wonderful little lights. They work as advertized, and can't be beat for the price.
