Nice bracket

It's small and easy to store in your bag. Works nice for dual led lights.

Utter wastage of Money

This is simply a flat piece of black (probably anodized or painted, not sure) metal with one hole in the middle and two slots on the sides. On top of the slots on the sides are two rubber channels to cushion the flashes. The middle whole has a 1/4 20 screw to mount the camera. So far so good. And that it about its good points. Unfortunately, whoever designed this have never seen a digital SLR (at least those made by Canon). The designer apparently heard that there is a screw mount underneath the camers, but had no idea where that mount is located. Therefore the design of this bracket has the camera mounting screw exactly in the middle, equidistant from where the rubber channels end on either side. Now, the canon DSLRS (probably others too) have their screw mounts off center, slightly to the left. As a result when you mount the camera on this bracket the grip side of the camera rests on the right side rubber channels, while the left side rests on the metal bar directly. Thus the bottom of the camera is not flush with the bar, it stays slightly up on the right side and low on the left. That definitely puts unequal pressure on the screwmount of the camera. I had to cut two small flat pieces from my earaser and glued it with super glue to eliminate this problem. But the next problem is even more egragious. Second problem, again due to the middle position of the camera mounting screw and off center location of the screw mount on the camera, you cannot mount a flash on the right side. Even if you can mount a flash you cannot grip the camera. And there is not way of mounting it on a tripod head either. So basically it is useless. If you want to use it with a compact camera then probably fine, but for DSLRs it is useless. I would like to know the state of mind of the designer, when this product was designed. Utter wastage of money. If there was an option I would have given it a zero rating.

Not Practical for DSLR

Once I mount a DSLR, and 2 flash units, there's no room to hold/operate the camera - and with all that weight, it's extremely heavy. It's made well, it's just not a useful item to have.

Perfect for a dual bracket with space.

Used with radio triggers and off camera lighting, these do just the trick for a dual light setup using speed lights. I use it with a tilting head and shoot the speedlights through a brolly, or into one most of the time. This bracket helps with that and also when you want to use direct lighting and have the heads point to different places. I like that you can place the speedlights further apart than with a lot of brackets as it lets you mound your battery packs along side the speedlight, instead of hanging or strapped to the light stand somehow. That just makes more sense to me.

Easily converts to mono light bracket

Reverse the center knob and replace the shoes with adapter studs plus one in the center to attach to a light stand and mount two studio monolights. Be sure to use a counter weight at the base of the light stand to stabilize it. I use my 18 lb. battery pack for this purpose. It is a good idea to have an assistant hold the light stand outdoors if there is any significant wind. It is a great way to double your flash power when photographing larger groups like reunions or graduating classes.

Great product!

I use this adapter on top of a light stand to use two strobes into an umbrella. I take out the center screw and attach it to the top of the 3/8 stud of the umbrella bracket. I replaced the included cold shoes with the more durable Frio Cold Shoe.

Poor quality, broke easily

Tricky connection to camera, was hard to get secure mounting. One of the cheap plastic flash connectors broke after second usage. Worked much better when they were replaced with stroboframe versions.

Likely Nearly Perfect for My Purpose

I intend to attach the bracket--after bending it 90 degrees--to a four-way macro rail to assemble a panoramic head for my Pentax K10D. I will not be using either of the flash shoe mounts, so their quality isn't important to me. The bracket itself seems like it will be very sturdy, and it should support the weight of my camera with lens and battery grip. I'll know more when I put things together.

I love this cheap bracket!

I love this bracket and would buy another one in a heartbeat - I used the included cold shoes a few times but have since been using the AS-19 plastic flash stands for Nikon speedlights (and since one comes with every flash I didn't have to buy extras). I use this bracket for shooting 2 speedlights to overcome ambient, or I'll double up flashes and the cut the flash output in half, which speeds up my recycle time.

Good Bracket for [$]

For the price this bracket is great. I use it with nikon speedlights and replaced the cold shoes with the nikon stands that came with my flashes so I could use the locking pin to keep them more secure. I also use the new radio popper mounts on these and they work just fine. I did have a problem with one of the pieces of rubber coming off but a little super glue fixed that, might be better if the rubber wrapped around an edge to hold it on better. Essentially it is just a flat piece of metal with holes in it and a threaded mount but I don't think I could make one for any cheaper and this saved me the trip to the hardware store. I replaced the lastolite triflash with these and have been very happy so far.

Two Flash Bracket

The coldshoe pieces where the screw fits in are plastic and broke too easily. Should have been all metal construction. Also, the rubber padding along either side did not stay on very well. Great concept, poorly designed.
