About RPS Studio

Adorama now has available a Hot Shoe to 3.5mm Mini Plug with a 12" cord. This is a perfect connector for speedlites that do not have a PC connection such as the older Canon TTL flash units when you want to attach it to a "Pocket Wizard".

Please note that the hot shoe portion has dummy plugs that allow the multi pins of TTL flash units to slide on and off the shoe properly.

These are not "TTL" connections. The Hot Shoe is complete with a locking knob and a female 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of the shoe.

The RPS Version Well Built

By

The RPS version of this device is well built and works very well. The 90 degree fitting on the 3.5 mm end is great for keeping the wiring nice and neat considering when in use this is mounted to a flash which is triggered by a Pocket Wizard. Unfortunately Adorama doesn't handle the RPS version of this any more and have replaced it with a much cheaper version, so if you are ordering this item, be forewarned Adorama doesn't sell the RPS version! So my rating is for the RPS version only, the, made in India version is not near as good of quality!

Great for off camera flash.

My Nikon SB600 flash does not have any sync connections and I wanted to use it with my radio triggers. This item works great. The flash fits in the shoe nice and tight. No weird misfires from the flash rocking around. There is even a tighteing screw on the bottom of the unti so it can be secured to a platform. I use it with my Bowens triggers. Seems sturdy. Wish the price were a little lower.

Shopper  Hi is this a metal or plastic hot shoe? (I have a plastic one and it broke!)
RICKI D  It's plastic with metal parts. It is the only one that worked with my Canon 430 Speedlight. It fits nice and tight and is well-made. I tried two other ones from other companies that didn't work.
