I was able to get this unit while still available on this site. Necessary (or similar unit) necessary when camera does not have pc port and you wish to use a cable. I use this device when I am trialing different lighting setups and don't wish to drain batteries on a long shoot.

Does not work with Fuji HS-10. Not sure why. Camera has a hot shoe, but with device in place, it will not fire an external flash.

Have to have this to use studio lighting, along with the sync cord to connect the lights. Hard to tighten down on the camera end, sync cord is not real snug so falls off easily. Does work if you are careful tho, I've seen others tape the sync cord in place but would rather it fall off if tripped over than tip the camera tripod. The part works, and is a must have for any lighting larger than the camera flash.

Nice hot-shoe attachment for general use. I would highly recommend using a PC connection when possible.

Tried to use on a D80 to connect to white lightning and elinchrome strobes via PC chord. Not only was the placement in the D80 hotshoe an exceedingly tight fit, but the PC cable connection basically couldn't fit into the input on the PC adapter. After making the connection, I never was able to get the strobes to fire from the D80.

Other than the cord/apadter connections coming undone the unit works fine. I taped the pc cord to the adapter and everything works like it should.

I purchased this device to hold a GPS unit; an AMOD3080. I removed the top metal hot shoe piece and super glued the AMOD3080's battery cover directly to the unit. Works great ... looks factory made.

It does what it's supposed to and feels like it's constructed well

I actually used this to add a hot shoe mount to a project I built, and it worked very well for that. It worked well for it's intended purpose as well.

Tried with Pocket Wizard Plus and it couldn't trigger the flash. Maybe it is not designed for this one, only PC cord?

Well, I use this item on Nikon D80 nd Fuji S2 (actualy, S2 already has PC connecter but i want to safe the worn out on it)connect to Studio flash. It works just fine. I don't have any problem with it. And It 's a cheap hotshoe adapter compare with the Nikon pc adapter.

Used as a spacer to mount a GPS unit and still be able to use the built in flash on my D200

I purchased a Minalta XE-7 body that had a malfunctial side receptical for a flash attachment. Instead of a $[...] repair, [...] the ahoe adapter that solved the problem.

Cheap, quite, simple and reliable! What else can you expect? It perfectly adapts my Nikon D70s to my studio lights (pc connection).

If your hot shoe camera has no PC outlet, you can still use any PC sync-cord flash unit. Just slide this adapter on to your hot shoe and you have a PC outlet
