Good Product with a Caution

I am using this simple flash on a Canon digital to trigger slaves. CAUTION: As the voltage across the contacts of this flash is 280V direct connection to most digital cameras will fry their electronics. Use an Olympus Safe Sync interface. SKU: IOMSSHSHS from Adorama to protect your camera.

Perfect for a beginner

By

I love this product because it is lightweight and gets the job done. I have used this product to take my daughter's senior portraits and I never imagined this flash could have such a drastic impact on how the photos came out. I went to have the photos developed and had to sign a waiver stating that the photos were not taken by a professional photographer. That really gave me the confidence I needed to advance my career in photography. No negative comments about this wonderful product.

Amazing value!!!

Works really well with Nikon D3000. Very functional flash with rock bottom price. Decent quality. In many cases, much better than the on camera flash, which is also very good.

Compact and ready flash.

I have more than one camera... this is an extra flash, a back up that might be used more often than not.

Cheap Solid Flash

By

from orlando  -  Photo Enthusiast

I purchased this flash to use along with my Polaroid Land Camera collection. The flash works great, it's nice to be able to use my pack film cameras indoors now. Adorama shipped fast, the product arrived safe.

Good for the price

By

This flash does the job when using it with my Olympus RC-35 or with Lomo cameras. Adorama couldn't tell me what the sync voltage was, I tested it at 85V so while it safe to use with my D-90 what's the point if you can't turn down the power. This flash is not useful if you want shoot wide open at 2.8 unless you are trying to light up a far subject. If this flash was used with Diana or Holga with small f-numbers it will serve well for lighting subjects in doors.

Perfect for the price

By

I use older 135, 120 and toy cameras and this is perfect. It is bright, cycles quickly and that PC sync is a must for some of my older cameras. I love that it didn't break my hobby budget either.

Shopper  Would this be safe to use with the Fujifilm hs20exr ? Is the voltage ok for the camera?,will it fry the internal elements?
Andrew R  Unfortunately no, the trigger voltage will likely cause damage to digital camera circuitry.
julian r  is flash safe to use on canon t1i without frying it?
DARRELL K  Unfortunately, I can't offer much help on your question. I'm using the RS-F18 with a 1963 vintage Polaroid 100 Land Camera via a PC cord. It is a great flash though and matches nicely with the Polaroid.
