I installed it with a new bracket for my 6D, and it worked as advertised. I think if protected from abuse, it should work with light use, by amateur photographers.

Item is not as it appears in photo. There is a flash shoe at the end of the cord and one on top of bracket that fits into the hotshoe on the camera. The flash shoe at the end of the cord doesn't fit my flash Canon 220EX, but the other ones does.

It is exactly what I needed so that I could learn to use the flash off the camera.

It's ok but tilt capability should be more stable. or maybe have an option so it doesnt tilt. I didnt find another product made of metal sturdy enough as this one, that's why I chose it. but I dont like the 'tilt feature'. I would have prefer it to be in a fix position. other than that it works ok!

Secure platform for a flash gun. Solidly built and easy to use.

First, I believe the newest version of this product is slightly different than what is pictured. For example, it does not have a thumb screw to tighten it on the camera's hotshoe (as pictured). Instead, the new model has a locking slide mechanism (identical to the OC-E3). The corners on both the camera end and the flash end are rounded (identical to the OC-E3). The flash end also has a slide to slip into a hotshoe (identical to the OC-E3). The diameter of the cable matches the OC-E3. Other than the Adorama sticker (that can easily be removed) it seems like a complete copy of the OC-E3 at about 30% of the cost. I think some of the negative comments I've read are based on the previous model and do not reflect the newest version. My initial impression is that I'm very pleased with the build quality. It seems to work fine with the ETTL of my Canon 580 flash. I admit, I'm fairly hard on my equipment and using this cable on a flip handle puts a lot of stress on the mounts. I've had some models that are absolute junk. Even the Canon versions seem to break every few months but based on the price, I can buy 3 or 4 of these.

I had considered buying this bracket, but because of the somewhat negative reviews, had not. While came with the package deal, it's not a bad bracket, especially considering the price. Versatile, and not too bulky.

Used to off-center the flash to reduce red-eye in candid shots, also reduces red-eye on athletes when camera to subject distance is extensive.

This is the second Canon Flash sync Cord I replaced. Canon has a big problem with the construction of it's flash sync Cords. This time I took a chance and bought an aftermarket one from Adorama. So far, it is working fine and there is no need to spend 80% more for canon sync Cords. I hope Canon reads this.

The unit I received was defective; although the metal did not appear to be bent, there was no way a flash could fit the shoe. Glad for Adorama's easy return policy.

Couldn't figure out why I got horribly overexposed pictures with this on either my T2i or T4i. Doesn't have a necessary connection. Zoom doesn't read, flashes open. I stopped using manual flash back in the 60s.

Very bad construction, in less than two days I went through two cords under normal use. The flash shoe is held in place by four flimsy screws and the plate easily is pulled easily off from the screws. The Canon extension cord is much more secure and durable.

The cord comes with a female screw mount base on the bottom of the hotshoe that connects to the flash. There needs to be a shoe mount on the bottom as well as the top to work with the L bracket that I purchased along with it.

I thought I would hold my 580EX in my left hand and my 5D in my right hand with this cable between them. That turned out to feel somewhat like I was fighting with this cord all the time. It worked but I think I'll get a wireless transmitter next time.

This is a pain to use, but I didnt want to spend the $$ for wireless flash. I actually split the cord in two and extended it with a cat5e cable. now it adds alot of bulk to my bag, but I like the extra reach.

Good for portraiture, to avoid harsh shadows from flash directly above lens.

I got this product in a package with my flash that I bought so I didn't really thing much about it. However, whenever I need to use my flash off-camera, this comes in handy. There are problems, however. The cord is very short and stretchy so when I need to use this it usually takes two people. I would definitely choose a different cord if I was buying one by itself but when I need to use off-camera flash, this is a necessity.

Adds light from all angles. Say good bye to red eyes. My dog and cat are not frightened by the flash. Nice little toy to compliment my speedlight.

Bought this product and was dissapointed because it didn't work. I either got full power flash or no flash. Never a TTL regulated flash. Exchanged it for the Canon product that works fine.

This chord attaches to the shoe mount in such a way that the chord hangs over the front of the camera and interfers with the shots. It is too long, also.

Quite useful but short
By SPP
The cable makes off-camera flash quite easy. My only complaint is that the cable is too short. It could be at least 36" or more to make it more useful
Great Value-Works Great

This cord is well made and works perfectly. At less than half the price of Canon's own cord (probably the same unit anyway), it's a steal.
These are the perfect answer to using a dedicated flash unit off of the camera and yet retain all of the dedicated features of the flash.
These heavy duty TTL cords are designed to fit Canon cameras that use dedicated flash units. They feature a molded shoe on one end that slides onto the camera hot show and locks to prevent accidental dislodging of the shoe. A second shoe mounts onto a flash bracket or light stand via either a standard foot with lock or a 1/4-20 thread. The top of the shoe accepts the flash unit. A heavy duty 3 foot coiled cord connects the shoes. Does not have an accessory shoe, and you need to remove theshoe from the bracket and screw it into the 1/4x20 socket. You can purchase SB30oc29 to prevent twisting.
