My go-to 1600 speed film. Scans extremely well, and has a very appealing grain at a high speed (the only times I ever go higher, I pick up a roll or two of Ilford Delta 3200). Just plain good film.

I've been using this film almost nonstop for about a year now. Amazing texture, crispness, and of course "flashless" capability. After shooting Lollapalooza, Chicago, and tons of fast-action indoor stuff with it, I can safely say I'd push it to anything and take it anywhere. Give this a try-it will revolutionize your spontaneous portraiture!

i have tried tmz,delta3200,hp5 ,tx, pushed with this and with that developer and on and on... with the right developer delta3200 and np1600stays solid. it's all about personal preference and i like np1600 more for it's snappy feel. with a 50mm/1.4lens nothing is impossible in the night . think of these high speed films as readypushed products not like pushing iso 400 films 2~3stops np1600 has np400 's charactor with more grain and higher iso .

I use this film to great extent. Indoors shooting bands and live music. Outdoors to get grain and texture for fashion/modeling. This film looks great pushed and I consistantly shoot it at 3200 with amazing results. Another reviewer said that they needed lighting indoors with this film. They have it all wrong.

Good art and lith like texture with hard blacks and bright whites. Soft tonal greys. Use 25A Red filter for stronger texture and effect. Not good for night time or indoor dim light, unless appropriate lighting is used.

High Sensitivity to Light, Rich Tonal Quality, Push Processing Capability to EI4800
A high-speed, ISO 1600 black-and-white film. Processing time is equal to that of Neopan 400, allowing the two films to be processed simultaneously.
