Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this for one wrench or two...two are shown in the product picture?Timothy M : Two. You'll probably need to use both at the same time.Marco R : This item is composed of two wrenches, as shown in the picture. You need two pieces because one wrench goes on the filter and the other goes on the outer rim of the lens. Then tighten both wrenches and turn them in opposite directions (clockwise and counterclockwise). This way I was successful in unscrewing a stuck filter.THOMAS L : Two wrenches are in the package I received.MARY H : It is a two-pack. Very handy too. I have arthritis in my hands and this wrench really helps.MICHAEL O : Two are included.ALLEN N : Two Didn't work wellDANIEL P : There were two when I bought this item. They came as a set
Shopper : Any chance these will work for 46mm filters?Timothy M : Yes. They worked on mine.CHARLES N : I do not see any reason why it would not work.JOHN F : No, it won't work on less than 48. You can always try a rubberized kitchen item used to loosen up jar covers and see if that works.GERARD H : No, the ends of the wrench will meet before the filter is properly squeezed.PATRICK P : I do not know, as I have not tried it on anything smaller than a 49mm. It might be the case if you slightly overlap the handles.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JAMES A : need themJAMES G : Bent filter removalJOHN B : versatilityDANIEL C : Need oneEUGENE V : My wife has lenses of this size, which have become cross threaded.LISA H : Because my grandson dropped my camera on the lens, the ring on the uv filter is bent. I hope this will help loosen it to remove it from my lens.LINDA D : I have students that always seem to put filters on just a bit too tight. I'm hoping these will help.JIM B : ease of filter removalPAUL F I : I wanted to have an easy way to remove filters from lenses.DON F : This low priced tool is cheap insurance in case I need such a thing.STEPHANIE M : It's good to have these in the tool bag.DAVID C : I've been manipulating filter hold-down rings since 1972, using small screw drivers. It's now time to try using a proper tool.JAMES N : Just in case. Burned in the past...JOHN P : I've had trouble removing CPL filters before. On the presumption that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, I thought I'd get a filter wrench "just in case."THOMAS W : Good price, needed it.CHRISTY S : one of those items you frequently need, but its not on your mind when orderingPaul F : Occasionally need oneJAMES W : RecommendedCHARLES D : For my large format kitRICHARD P : NeededROBERT S : While I typically leave my UV filters on permanently, sometimes it's tough to take off an ND or polarizing filter or separate two different stacked filters, so hoping that this little chunk of plastic does the trick to make it easier and less likely to smear my greasy paws on the glass when trying to remove a filter.GINA L : I have a lens filter that it sometimes difficult to removeCHARLES B : Impulse, I could use it but haven't needed one. But still may be useful if I have a problem ;-)WILLIAM F : on older vintage lenses, the lens filters sometimes get a little stubborn when trying to get them off. this product takes away the scary moments hoping that you don't break the lens.Larry T : i'm loosing my grip!horton j : I need it for the summilux.LINDA D : Highly recommended and one size doesn’t fit all.Kevin C : Looks like it will do the jobKENNETH D : to ease removal of filters.MATT H : I chose this because an infernal filter had demonically attached itself to my lens.WALTER L : Needed to remove some stuck filters. Being plastic they are pretty flimsy and dissapointing. Discovered from a google search that a 1/4" flat rubber band around the filter gripped tightly works much better.ARTHUR A. S : Thought it would help me to remove stuck filters. It really doesn't because it bends and warps too easily.JOHN A : As we all know, two filters on a lens will always lock and never come apart. five bucks is a small price to leave the frustration behindROBERT R : Just in caseMICHEAL D : Because I needed one

49mm/55mm filter wrench

Purchased for 55mm filter only, it is quite small for 55mm but would work very well on 49mm.

Useful, affordable, far from perfect

When you need it, you need it. Well, actually there ARE workarounds that work even better but there are the most convenient way ... when they work and when they don't break. They are slippery so adding a rubber band on the filter rim is often required. I rated thenm 3 stars and "recommended" but recommended with the advisary above.

Simple and unexpensive wrench

It is especially useful if you use a polarizer filter on your lens. This kind of filter have very thin surface to screw it off,so if it was screw on too hard, this wrench can realy help you to not damage a filter and lens when you start disassemble a filter. Kindly recommend to hold this wrench in your camera bag if you use filters.

Can't Use With Nikon 52mm Slip In Filter

Ordered to remove filters from the Nikon 52mm Slip-in filter holder on Nikon 200-400 and Nikon 600mm lens. The design of the Nikon filter holder does not allow the wrench to grip the filter. Design looks good and I'm sure it works fine on the proper filter/lens.

Great Product

Purchased this product in case one of my filters becomes hard to remove. Haven't had it happen yet but I tested the wrench by intentionally over tightening my polarizer filter to one of my lenses. The wrench worked perfectly. Great item to keep in the camera bag.

It gets the job done

By Practically P.

Nothing special here, it's a filter remove that works by evenly applying pressures around the filter. I've not had to use this on my filters yet, I purchased this as a precautionary measure. I've had a couple buddies that had their filters seemingly glued in spot, and this worked wonders for them. For the price, you really can't say it's not worth having. At a couple inches long and weighing close to nothing it slides in my bag without a problem.
