Works on Olympus Pen epl3
Bought as part of set to use on my Olympus Pen E-pl3. Bought the adorama 46mm rubber lens hood to go with adapter. Provides protection from bumps and sun intrusion, easily removed or folded back. Adapter is needed to mount this hood on standard 14-42 pen lens.

Necessary for Oly ePL2 kit lens
I purchased this step-up ring to use with my Oly e-PL2 14-42 kit lens (micro four thirds). And then I attach a 46mm two-position collapsible rubber lens shade, which works great on this lens outdoors. You'll have to take advantage of both positions, collapsed for the 14-18 range, and fully extended for the 19-42 range. The advantage of getting the 46mm lens shade is that it will also work on the 20mm and 45mm Panasonic Leica lenses for the micro-four thirds format. So, one rubber lens shade works on 3 lenses. The advantage of a rubber lens shade is that it provides a cushion against accidental bumps.
