Outstanding 10x50 binocular

Awesome optics, fantastic build. Plenty of eye-relief even for wearers of eye glasses with the cups folded down. I really like this binocular and would buy it again although for about $180 more I might opt for the FMTR-SX with the rubber coating.

Excellent image and waterproof

I was looking for durable salt waterproof binoculars with moderate magnification and good low light performance. These binoculars were perfect. Exceptionally sharp bright image. Individual eyepiece focus rings do not need to be changed once adjusted to your eyes. Every user comments how great these binoculars are.

Worth every penny!!

Have had these about three months! The price was shocking, but had many cheaper and not happy. So took the plunge and have NO regrets!! This is refinement, period. Worth every penny! The color correction, flat field of view, etc, etc. Many think it's just power, NO, it the quality of the optics, and build quality, period.

Excellent choice for astronomy or marine use

I bought these for astronomy use and they are excellent. Razor sharp images and lots of light transmission to get even deep sky objects in view. I chose the 10 x 70 because I can put them on a tripod for use in sky observing but they can also be hand-held for short looks at terrestrial and marine objects as well. If you require the best look no further.

Excellent for Astronomy and Boating

These glasses are bright, built like a tank and very sharp and contrasty. You won't be disappointed with them for astronomy or boating. They are not the best 7 x 50s in my opinion, however. That honor goes to the Nikon ProStars, which are very similar, a bit more expensive, and give a flatter field and noticeably crisper focus. I got my ProStars from Adorama so that my kids and I could observe at the same time. You might not enjoy these as much for birding or sports. They're too big, too heavy and, with individual focus, not so handy for those uses.

Excellent value

I got these mostly for "backyard astronomy" and as an upgrade to 8x32 compact binocs. Tried them on Jupiter late one night and could see at least one moon, but couldn't hold them steady enough. Bought a tripod mount, tried again, and counted all four (large) moons! Excellent resolution! Some chromatic aberration on bright Jupiter itself. Refocus requires adjusting both eyepieces individually which is not as convenient as a central focusing ring. Great quality, and excellent value.

This is a wonderful binocular, you won't be sorry...

Sometimes you need a bit more magnification than 8X and more light gathering power than 42-50mm. These 70mm objectives gather almost twice the light as 50 mm ones and at 10x these fine binoculars are still hand holdable. These are great binoculars to use for astronomy or anywhere you need to resolve detail at long range, the lenses are corrected to show a flat field all across the field of view. The only downside is that they are a bit big and heavy but it's not possible to deliver the same performance with anything smaller and lighter.

this binocular is a really great bargain......

I collect binoculars as a hobby and use them a lot as well. I have some top-of-the-line Swarovskis, Leicas, etc. The FMT models are performance-wise fully equal to those 3 times the price brands, they are rugged as well. The only down-side is that they are big and heavy...but have to be considering the lens size. You will not be disappointed with any of the FMT Fuji models...

Brigt & Rugged

I own 2 pair. I take them to football and sporting events and use them for boating and on cruises. They are very bright and sharp. If I hand them off to someone who has never looked through them, they are astounded by the brilliance and luminosity they see. The 7X50 FMT-SX are fixed focus and are not good for nearby objects, but for everything else they are superb. In fact, once you set the eyepiece pieces to your vision, everything beyond about 90 feet will always be in focus. These are not lightweight, but that is a price of the great glass and image quality. But take them out to observe the moon or celestial bodies and you won't be disappointed that you didn't have to lug a heavy telescope yet managed to see more than you bargained for. You will also marvel at the brightness most telescopes can't deliver.

Excellent Binoculars

These are my second pair. I have a set with the compass and reticle too for boating. Best binoculars I've ever owned. Excellent eye relief for those that wear glasses.

Overall, the best binocular made

I use this binocular to look at anything & everything. This Fujinon 7x50 FMTR-SX binocular will give you a "BETTER IMAGE" than any other! A most rugged binocular. Con: Very heavy, but that is a price paid for something built like a tank! I have read about & studied binoculars, all my life, there are binoculars made for specific tasks, but this Fujinon is the best overall binocular on the planet. At the present time, Adorama has the best price, I can find

Great binoculars

I have had them for about 25 years and have never had a problem with them. They accompanied me to Kenya and a field trip.

Fantastic bit of kit!

This binocular is fantastic! The field of view is actually 6 degrees 30 mins. I mean, compared to a 8x25 compact, this thing has superb wide field of view, even with a greater 10x magnification. All object just pop up in front of you as if you were standing right in front of whatever you see. That effect is not so with the compact binos. I am really satisfied with this product. I just got it. I also got the FMT-SX 16x70 last week, and I am very happy with both products. As a plus, it looks like Adorama got these very recently, because they've been inspected and certified by Fujinon only like month ago for the 16x70 and two months ago for the 10x50. I mean, these are spanking brand new models! As some poeple might remember, these had been previously in black color with yellow rings around the eyecups. Not these, these are all the latest gray color models with the recently changed Fujifilm logo. Some poeple used to call them FMT-SX II. And that's what you get. Thanks Adoroama! [...]

One of the very best for night time use

[...]But if you are looking for quality I recommend these. They are the best bins I have used for astronomy and my fellow UK based astronomers agree, especially as I live in light polluted skies on the edge of London. The brightness of the image is immediately obvious and the wide field is flat. The eyepieces have large lens and are very comfortable with good eyerelief. As they are a little heavy, I use mine on a tripod. Definitely worth the money new and are price competitive to brands such as Leica and Zeiss. [...]Best wishes.Binocular Brit.
