Bought one for my Mom who started suffering from Parkinson. It performed extremely well for her. However she was always very careful, something broke inside. Definitely not caused by her. Contacted Fuji several times but never got an answer. So spend over a thousand bucks on this thing but if something happens you are out of your THOUSAND bucks. This is just disgusting.

These binoculars are just what I wanted for long distance viewing without needing a tripod. The battery life might prove to be a small nuisance but the three hours of viewing time will give me a days worth of viewing under most circumstances.

These binoculars came in an impressive case. They also had clear, easy to follow set up instructions. The batteries went in, I did a practice run through, then put them to work. And work they do, with surprising image stability and ease of use, with a weight comfortable enough for my petite wife to handle for extended periods. Wildlife, from whales to bears, come closer - but stay far enough away to be safe! These are the best binoculars I've ever used.

Used these once on a buddy's boat and immediately bought a pair for my boat. You see so much more than with your binoculars, the stabilization is remarkable.

Have only been able to test "handheld" so far, but stabilized images show amazing improvement over non-stabilized ones. Could scarcely believe how much more fine detail is visible. Also, accommodates my 4.0 diopter vision correction perfectly.

Better realtime resolution than Zeiss, Swarovski, etc. Why ? Because the other brands need a tripod to bring out their top optical qualities. If your image is jumping up & down, even the best optical formula is nullified. The IS of the Fuji and Nikon is the best of all brands. It's as close to a tripod a s possible. As a test, look at star fields. There is a dramatic increase in stars visible when the IS is turned on. The best non-IS binoculars will never show these stars. So while in theory Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica etc may offer better lens resolution(on a tripod or laboratory), in the field the Fuji will totally outperform these brands because of the IS. The Canon 12x42L lenses possibly offers better contrast and are brighter and is a good alternative for many situations, esp for nighttime(They offer a larger exit pupil). However for the most demanding situations, ie panning moving objects and on moving platforms, the Fuji has almost a 5X better IS stability, a much more sophisticated IS system.

I have many optics at my disposal. Before this purchase I regularly used my Steiner 15x80 w/compas as well as my Canon 18x50IS stabilized binoculars. I use my binoculars for law enforcement surveillance, air to ground activities and personal uses. Each pair in my "toolbox" has a distinctive purpose. The Steiners are the best for low light use. The Canon glass is great when I need the reach of the 18 power and the benefit of the stabilization. I hesitated to buy these Fujinons, thinking I would be duplicating current capabilities but I was interested in the +-5 degree stabilization capability. My Canons are great for ground to ground but are sometimes too much magnification in the air, and the stabilization is limited in the high vibration/turbulance environment of air ops. The Fujinon binocularss are a much better fit for air ops. Magnification is about perfect and the stabilization is significantly better than my Canons. I was very impressed with the dampening of the image in comparison to the Canon IS. I AM NOT SAYING one is better than the other. I would not trade in any of my glass. They each have strengths and weaknesses. Like any tool, there is usually one "right" tool for every job. These Fujjinons look well made, packaged in a Pelican 1400 case. I would have preferred a lower visability case for law enforcement (olive drab or black) but that is minor as I can always paint it or swap it out with a different 1400. I can not speak yet to battery life, but it has a standby mode that should help useful life. The case has a small cutout for spare AAs. The bottom line is that this a professional grade tool. It has solid construction and is packaged to be used. Image quality is excellent. The big difference with this tool is its EXCELLENT stabilization. If you want to use a 14x optic on air or water craft, from vehicles or other unstable platform, you should give these a try.

Any of the parameters for judging the quality of high powered binoculars are meaningless unless you have a tripod. The jiggle and movement takes the fun out of using anything with high magnification. The biggest kick I have with these binoculars is letting others use them. I tell them how they work, hand them over and wait for the "WOW"! I've looked through Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski and I wouldn't give these Fujinon's up for anything. The image stabilization allows me to pick out details that are otherwise impossible to find. I've seen other reviews complain about the weight, but they feel fine to me, very solid. I showed these to a SWAT officer and he was stunned. He was going to obtain a set for his squad first thing Monday morning.

This unique instrument uses state-of-the art digital image stabilization to steady hand tremors and platform motions, giving the user steady, calm images that are bright and crisp.
Why Stabilization Because All high-power scopes and binoculars magnify not only the image, but all the motions of the user as well. Even with the steadiest of hand, the higher power scopes and binoculars magnify the slightest of movements. This movement can cause eye strain, fatigue, and reduced efficiency, even from a stable viewing platform. If you are moving in an automobile, ship, or aircraft, you will have a compounded problem.
Fujinon has solves this problem (again) with the Techno-Stabi. The "internal optics" are isolated, using electric motors and computer sensors to provide image stabilization, so that even on a rocking ship, moving automobile, or jittering aircraft, the image delivered to the eye is rock steady. It works upside down as well as right side up, and from any angle. It is waterproof, buoyant, lightweight, and operates as a "standard" binocular if the power fails or is turned off. Unlike other stabilized binoculars on the market today, the Techno-Stabi effectively eliminates hand tremors from the user as well as platform vibrations, giving the user a smooth, high-power image.
