About Fujinon 7x50 Porro Prism

The Mariner compass model uses Fujinon's most accurate compass. Only -1' maximum error-the same compass found in the independently top rated Polaris 7x5O FMTRC-SX.

The compass and reticle display are visible through the eyepiece. A translucent panel above the compass provides a bright view of the heading under daylight conditions. For use after dark, a nightlight is built into the cornpass. The control pushbutton and battery for the light is atop the right tube. This exclusive new Fujinon design makes it easier to use and also reduces the chance of electrical interference affecting compass performance.

One reason why the Fujinon 7x50 Porro Prism is popular is because of its Quality lenses

Exceptional Value

These binoculars are an exceptional value. Bright, sharp focus, combined with the internal compass feature make these ideal for piloting in a marine environment. Dollar for dollar, they are hard to beat.

Long term review

These binoculars provide excellent image quality and great quality feel for the money. I've had a pair for about 10 years now. A couple of years ago, I noticed some corrosion and mold on one side. They have never been dropped in the water but have been exposed to rain and salt spray. I recommend them for causal use or for a cruise of up to a couple of years but they may leak after extended use in a marine environment. Even so, they can be replaced every few years and still be cheaper than man...

Brigt & Rugged

By

from Fort Lauderdale, Florida  -  Casual/ Recreational

I own 2 pair. I take them to football and sporting events and use them for boating and on cruises. They are very bright and sharp. If I hand them off to someone who has never looked through them, they are astounded by the brilliance and luminosity they see. The 7X50 FMT-SX are fixed focus and are not good for nearby objects, but for everything else they are superb. In fact, once you set the eyepiece pieces to your vision, everything beyond about 90 feet will always be in focus. These are not lightweight, but that is a price of the great glass and image quality. But take them out to observe the moon or celestial bodies and you won't be disappointed that you didn't have to lug a heavy telescope yet managed to see more than you bargained for. You will also marvel at the brightness most telescopes can't deliver.

Quality product

By

from Boerne Texas  -  Casual/ Recreational

I did a lot of research before committing to this purchase. I was deciding between these and some others which were less expensive. I read several reviews that mention that the cheap products did not last and that these fujinon lasted years and years. With a 25 years warranty they have to. I never regret when I buy the best. These are a bigger and heavier than some of the other popular models, but they are solid and the compass is easy to read and does not bounce around like some cheaper models. These are a great product. If you can afford these, they are what you need.

These are my second pair. I have a set with the compass and reticle too for boating. Best binoculars I've ever owned. Excellent eye relief for those that wear glasses.

Overall, the best binocular made

By

from Sun City, AZ  -  Casual/ Recreational

I use this binocular to look at anything & everything. This Fujinon 7x50 FMTR-SX binocular will give you a "BETTER IMAGE" than any other! A most rugged binocular. Con: Very heavy, but that is a price paid for something built like a tank! I have read about & studied binoculars, all my life, there are binoculars made for specific tasks, but this Fujinon is the best overall binocular on the planet. At the present time, Adorama has the best price, I can find

super bright even for 50mm

By

from SF Bay USA  -  Avid Adventurer

1) yes the yellow floater strap you read about in other ads for these binox is indeed included. (why not in the pic??) so are batteries for the compass light. 2) the bushnell car window mount as mentioned on the same web page implies that it works with these binox, but you must also buy an adapter. (btw that bushnell window mount is just as good as if not better than my pricy manfrotto one) The female threads on the front of the binox are same thread pattern as sticks up from your tripod, so a very universal adapter should work nicely. I ordered the bushnell adapter having been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the window mount. i bought them at adorama because i saved a couple bucks vs other online sellers of the model #. adorama folks reading this please note that inclusion of tech info in the ads would be (and is, when it's there) greatly appreciated;-)

Excellent marine binoculars

By

from Naples,FL  -  Professional Guide

They may be bulky and heavy compared to lightweight smaller models but marine binoculars 7x50s are that way.

15 YEARS OF UNFAILING SERVICE

By

from NORTHERN CALIFORNIA  -  Casual/ Recreational

BEST MARINE 7X50'S AT ANY PRICE! A COMFORTING FRIEND ON ANY WATERS, INLAND OR SEA, NIGHT OR DAY! I BOUGHT THESE FROM ADORAMA IN 1995 AND HAVE TREASURED THEM AS MY "HEAVY HITTERS". WITH A LITTLE CARE AND VERY CAREFUL CLEANING MINE STILL LOOK LIKE NEW, BOTH LENSES AND EXTERIOR. TOO HEAVY TO CARRY AFIELD, SO GET A LIGHTWEIGHT FOR THAT USE.

The product seems to be as advertised but arrived with a defective (intermittent) compass light. [...]the manufacturer (Fujinon) offered to exchange them. I have yet to receive a replacement.
